Canopy Power is a Singapore-based provider of remote renewable energy microgrid infrastructure. We empower businesses and communities to move to a cleaner energy future through our holistic solutions including design, EPC and financing of complete microgrids as well as our in-house developed microgrid management platform and long-term operations and maintenance services. Our solutions reduce our customer\xe2\x80\x99s energy OpEx, carbon emissions and diesel dependence. We are a vibrant growth company with a close-knit team and are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated candidate to join our BD team. While working with us, the candidate will learn about one of the fastest growing segments in renewable energy industry \xe2\x80\x93 hybrid/off-grid microgrids. Microgrid technology has potential to change lives of millions of people and thousands of businesses by providing them access to cleaner and cheaper 24/7 electricity. Currently 1.2 billion people lack access to reliable power; hundreds of millions of them are located in SE Asia.

The Role Responsible for leading business development and sales within specified key markets in the Asia region through current and new sales channels. This position will provide the successful candidate with an opportunity to own the overall lead generation, project development, sales process and client management for our exciting solution portfolio covering technical solution and finance.

Reporting to the Director of BD, the BDM role is suited to candidates who have previously managed sales and technical pre-sales roles for similar offerings focused in the renewable energy industry and can demonstrate an ability to drive performance and growth through a mixture of business acumen, technical competence, enthusiasm and ability in relationship building. A deep understanding of the challenges intrinsic to both legacy power generation systems and renewable energy systems is essential to this role. Knowledge of hybrid power systems, generation plants such as solar, wind, diesel as well as an understanding of LV and MV electrical distribution is highly advantageous. It would also be highly advantageous for the candidate to be able to demonstrate experience in infrastructure project finance.

Key accountabilities include \xc2\xa7 Develop a market leadership position in key applications for microgrid solutions, growing sales volumes substantially \xc2\xa7 Maintain a strong understanding of the developing marketplace for renewable energy microgrid solutions \xc2\xa7 Manage project pipeline from lead, project development to sale \xc2\xa7 Work with internal engineering team to produce technical proposals \xc2\xa7 Work with internal team and finance partners to produce commercial proposals \xc2\xa7 Travel within region to support sales opportunity development and marketing activities \xc2\xa7 Market-feedback and subsequent optimization and development of products and requirements \xc2\xa7 Company representation at fairs, congresses and conferences

Qualifications and Experience: \xc2\xa7 University Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or other relevant education. \xc2\xa7 Around 5 years or more experience in sales, business development or project development ideally in renewable energy-based solutions. \xc2\xa7 Good level of technical understanding of electrical power systems, with an emphasis on renewable energy. \xc2\xa7 Strong consolidated knowledge and experience in Marketing and sales \xc2\xa7 Base understanding of global logistics and shipping

Competencies and skills: \xc2\xa7 Business-fluent in English. Other regionally relevant languages like Mandarin, Bahasa or Tagalog are highly appreciated \xc2\xa7 Ability to work in a multi-cultural setting \xc2\xa7 Self-starter with a strong problem-solving ability \xc2\xa7 Personal commitment, reliability, ability to work under pressure, flexibility \xc2\xa7 Leadership competencies: Ability to manage customers and partners, assertiveness \xc2\xa7 Social skills: Natural at relationship building, ability to face conflicts, calm in the face of challenges, natural team-player \xc2\xa7 Process-oriented thinking, excellent analytical skills, service-oriented, organizational skills, independent and systematic working method, cost-oriented thinking

Is This You? An experienced project and business development professional, with well-rounded technical and commercial knowledge. Our ideal candidate will have previously owned the development and implementation of sales strategy for a similar emerging portfolio. You\xe2\x80\x99ll demonstrate strong commercial acumen as well as a strong understanding of the technologies underpinning the renewable energy industry.
