Job Description


An exciting Business Development Manager job has just become available at a renowned asset management firm based in Singapore. This is a role for someone who is able to lead targeted growth in institutional client relationships.

About the Business Development Manager Role:
In this business critical role, you will be responsible for assuming day-to-day networking, sales and business development activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee sales and marketing initiatives and promoting funds and/or strategies managed by the Tokyo Head Office and Singapore local office, including but not limited to UCITS
  • Research competitors, potential customers, and market environment
  • Plan sales and marketing strategies in long (three to five years), mid and short term (yearly, quarterly, and monthly)
  • Develop and execute the sales and marketing plans with communicating with the Tokyo Head Office and Singapore local office
  • Report periodically to the Tokyo Head Office and Singapore local office regarding the activities, achievements, and business outlook
  • Create additional marketing materials, if needed
  • Manage relationships with clients and/or third party entities related to sales, marketing and promotion
  • Collect and share information, needs and/or demands from (potential) clients with the Tokyo Head Office and Singapore local office, and support further business developments, including but not limited to new fund ideas
The successful Business Development Manager has the ability to work effectively and co-operatively with senior business development teams and other internal stakeholders as well as communicate effectively with intermediaries when the need arises.

Key Requirements:
  • Possesses CMFAS certification (M5 and M8)
  • Technical knowledge of the asset management industry and UCITS is preferred
  • An understanding of micro and macro-economic factors affecting UCITS funds markets is an advantage
  • At least eight years of institutional client sales experience
