Business Project Manager & Analyst (12 Month Contract)

Job Description

We are looking for a Business Project Manager & Analyst to support our Finance transformation in a 12-month contract.
This role is responsible for supporting the business by managing high-profile projects, gathering business requirements, process mapping and developing standard operating procedures across a diverse group of stakeholders.
This role would suit someone who has strong regulatory, compliance and/ or risk experience in the financial services industry and who has managed a digitally led transformation project, preferably within insurance, in Project Management and/or Senior Analyst roles.
To be successful, the individual must have superior organisation and planning, analysis, critical thinking, and stakeholder communication skills to drive engagement and successfully deliver business outcomes. This role will work closely with wider project/program delivery team(s) and with key stakeholders to deliver these initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Project Management

  • Establish project delivery framework based on business requirements.
  • Project planning and scheduling of project tasks and key project resources.
  • Establish and maintain cadence of key project meetings.
  • Establish appropriate governance structures, prepare papers and chair meetings (e.g. steerco).
  • Track project status, prepare and present project status reports.
  • Actively own and manage project risks, issues and dependencies.
  • Manage and mentor project team.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, statutory, and corporate affairs requirements.
  • Interact with all levels of management, obtain buy in and sign off and manage expectations.
  • Develop/prepare business cases, proposals, requirements, or other project documentation.
  • Participate in global and regional project forums - leveraging existing solutions where applicable.
Stakeholder Engagement and Management
  • Gather and facilitate prioritization of requirements from stakeholders with endorsement by understanding the business processes, financial requirements, and technical constraints.
  • Identify, document and work with key stakeholders to produce a solution paper outlining options and inform solution recommendations in alignment to businesses requirements.
  • Act a liaison between different stakeholders to ensure all parties understand requirements
  • Work with stakeholders to identify and document non-functional requirements.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, project resources, specialists, and external vendors, as needed, to ensure key information is captured, agreed upon, and endorsed.
Records Management
  • Document critical operational activities producing artefacts in relation to business processes, procedures, systems and operating models.
  • Accurately document requirements - functional and/or business in agile or traditional business requirement document formats.
  • Document business test cases ensuring traceability back to business requirements with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Build key program repositories (SharePoint, Teams, JIRA / Confluence) and work with project stakeholders to ensure key documents are stored centrally as outlined by PMO's guidelines.
  • Ensure project related documentation are relevant, accurate and complete.
Business Analytics
  • Develop a solid understanding of current state business processes and systems.
  • Oversee and/or build operating model assessment on global business models including frameworks, process and systems, highlighting any gaps and differences across the APAC region.
  • Oversee and/or build the mapping of end-to-end business processes capturing key information, identifying gaps or process failures and documenting improvements needed to close the gap.
  • Understanding decision tree criteria between different processes and driving controls across the operating model by distilling business needs and evaluating fit for purpose options.
  • Develop a traceability matrix that maps project deliverables back to regulatory obligations.
  • Identify, analyze and resolve business problems, leveraging peers as required.
  • Undertake UAT and where required facilitate business testing, ensuring test plans, scripts, results and communications are well written and managed.
  • Support a review of existing policies and conduct a policy gap analysis with an agreed proposal on updating policies in alignment with regulatory outcomes.
  • Undertake analysis with large volumes of data to distil into management reports simplifying information in a manner that enables effective decision making.
  • Undertake qualitative and quantitative analysis work to identify to be future state operating models through process and technology and understand current state processes.
  • Identify future state change gaps working closely with a change manager to prepare change impact assessments, change plans & business readiness for any change needs.
  • Create and/ or contribute to development of training documentation such as user guides, training packs and others.
  • Facilitate workshops to elaborate Epics and capture and document user story mapping, user stories and future state operating model.
  • Ensure refinement of stories is taking place at appropriate time to feed backlog.
  • Elicit further requirements and test / challenge assumptions using a variety of methods including interviews, document analysis, workshops, and business process descriptions,
Role Competencies & Requirements:
  • Experience working within a transformational program of work - with tight timeframes.
  • Experience working within projects involving all facets of change such as digital technology, process, policy, governance.
  • Experience working in a digitally (or technology) led transformation project.
  • Previous experience in project management and analyst roles (for example, Project Manager, Business Analyst, Product Analyst, Product Owner).
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g. MS Project).
  • Experience with tools e.g. Visio, Lucid charts and/or other process mapping applications, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, MS Project.
  • Proven project management experience in financial/regulatory environments, with strong exposure to fast-paced transformation programs.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, especially with complex data.
  • Experience with financial systems (preferably insurance/SAP) and digitally led change.
  • Outstanding stakeholder management and communication skills at all levels, including C suite.
  • Strong risk identification, assessment and mitigation capability.
  • Skilled workshop facilitator (process design, requirements gathering, user story mapping).
  • Able to translate technical and regulatory concepts into clear, actionable guidance.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management, prioritization and delivery focus.
  • Strong negotiation/influencing skills and ability to work independently.
  • Committed to quality, attention to detail, ethics and integrity.
  • Innovative mindset with experience driving process improvement and operating in environments of system immaturity and significant change.
  • Collaborative team player who acts in line with company values and supports broader objectives.
Desirable
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence
  • Certifications in Project Management, Scrum Master or other associated disciplines required
