Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented

Buyer

to manage the procurement of raw materials, purchased parts, machinery, and other goods and services essential to our production operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring

timely and cost-effective purchasing

while maintaining the

highest standards of quality and delivery performance

. The ideal candidate will also ensure compliance with ISO and GPP standards and proactively support operational and supply chain needs.

Key Responsibilities:

System Support:

Evaluate purchase requisitions with a focus on engineering change implementations to minimize excess and obsolete inventory. Maintain and regularly update a database of approved suppliers, pricing, and delivery information. Ensure all purchasing documentation complies with ISO requirements and Good Procurement Practices (GPP).

Operational Support:

Stay updated on supply chain issues that may impact production (e.g., material shortages, delivery delays). Work closely with manufacturing and suppliers to resolve production line issues caused by supply chain disruptions. Coordinate with QA and Engineering teams to resolve quality or technical issues related to purchased components (e.g., drawing mismatches, quality non-conformance). Serve as a liaison between suppliers and subcontractors, maintaining regular communication and follow-up. Support any ad hoc demands from customers related to units in Work-In-Progress (WIP).

Qualifications / Requirements:

Degree/Diploma in

Electrical, Mechanical, Marine Engineering

, or equivalent Holds a Professional Certificate in Purchasing or Procurement Management is an advantage Proficiency in MRP/SAP systems is an advantage. Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, supply chain dynamics, and vendor negotiation. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work across departments and with external vendors. Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
