About the Role

We are seeking a customer-focused Barista to support the day-to-day operations of our cafe. The ideal candidate is skilled in espresso preparation and latte art, upholds high hygiene standards, and enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Cafe Operations:

Open/close procedures, station set-ups, side prep, and general floor support to ensure smooth service.

Barista Duties:

Prepare espresso-based beverages (latte art required), brewed coffee, and specialty tea drinks to recipe standards and within service times.

Food Preparation:

Assist with basic pastry preparation, portioning, reheating, plating, and product display.

Guest Experience:

Provide friendly, efficient service; handle enquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally to service-recovery standards.

Hygiene & Safety:

Maintain safe working conditions; follow NEA/SFA food hygiene practices, cleaning schedules, and equipment care.

Inventory & Waste Control:

Monitor stock levels (coffee beans, milk, pastries/cakes, packaging, etc.), perform daily counts, rotate stock (FIFO), and flag re-orders to prevent outages.

Cashiering:

Operate POS accurately, handle cashless/cash transactions, perform bill settlement, and assist with end-of-day reconciliation.

Team Support:

Work closely with Supervisors/Managers to ensure smooth daily operations, efficient workflow, and adherence to SOPs.

Requirements

Experience:

1-2 years as a barista in a cafe environment (latte art proficiency required). Fresh candidates with strong fundamentals and willingness to learn may be considered.

Technical Skills:

Espresso calibration, milk texturing, latte art, grinder maintenance, and basic equipment troubleshooting.

Service Skills:

Clear communication, problem-solving under pressure, and genuine hospitality.

Hygiene & Safety:

Knowledge of food safety and workplace safety practices; Food Hygiene Certificate is an advantage.

Pay: $2,200.00 - $2,500.00 per month
