Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience in Networking.

• Experience in telecommunications.

• Experience in optical network infrastructure, transmission systems, layer2/3 routers, and data services.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in a data center or PoP environment with a working knowledge of OSP, ISP, AC/DC power systems, environmental controls relay rack/cabinet/cage construction.

• Experience in Scripting or Coding.

• Understanding in networking on key protocols (i.e., MPLS, BGP, ISIS, and SDN concepts).

As a Capacity Engineer, you will design details that allow a network engineer to deploy a project in the field. You'll work with Network Architects, Design Engineers, Infrastructure Engineers, Field Engineers, Strategic Negotiators, and Technical Project Managers to strengthen and maintain the sub region for which you have responsibility. You'll drive greater efficiency and facilitate increased value-add for Google's network.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Engineering, Network Planners, Acquisition Negotiators, and local neutral colocation providers to create resilient plans for a scalable networks in Data Centers and Metro Points Of Presence (PoPs).
• Create executable deployment packages for network and other infrastructure projects in your assigned region.
• Advocate continuous improvement around workflow and automation processes and methodologies.
• Support all resources and work closely with field teams to execute and deliver network infrastructure projects and objectives.
• Advocate continuous process improvements and work with teams to drive down unit cost and increase value-add for our end-users, customers, and stakeholders.
