Nurses assess patients’ physical and mental health, perform clinical procedures, help patients improve or maintain their health and educate patients and their families on health matters. They work alongside a team of professionals to provide safe and smooth delivery of patient care every day thus teamwork, communication skills and attention to detail are important.
Personal Qualities
Nurses require good communication skills to establish and maintain relationships with patients and their relatives. These skills help them to work effectively within the healthcare team. Since nurses have to take care of patients, it is essential that they have emotional resilience and an attitude to help others. They must be able to act resourcefully with care and patience when dealing with patients’ demands and other difficult situations. • 2 GCE 'O' level credits*, or
• 3 GCE 'N' level credits** in English, Mathematics and one other subject; or
• ES WPLN Level 5 for all of the following: Reading, Listening, Writing, Speaking and Numeracy; and eitherWSQ Advanced Certificate in Healthcare Support (Nursing Care) or
  ITE Skills Certificate (ISC) in Health Care (Inpatient / Outpatient / Home Care / Clinic Practice ) with a min GPA of 2.8 or
  Minimum 3 years of direct patient nursing care experience.

• GCE 'O' level credits refer to grades A1 to C6

** GCE 'N' level credits refer to grades 1-5 or A-D
Candidates will still need to pass ITE Admission Committee's interview where applicable.
