Summary:
As the Cargo Flow Officer, you will report to the Cargo Flow Manager and will work towards achieving the objective of ensuring that container\'s demand and commitments are met in an efficient manner and to maximize overall network yield. You will work closely with the Trade teams and provide prompt and accurate forecasts as well as to furnish timely cost and operational information.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Operationalize the medium term space allocation (Teu, Deadweight and Sub-Equipment Size Types) from Trades
  • Enforce discipline in Trades and Front Line Offices to adhere to allocation guidelines and provide prompt and accurate forecasts.
  • Determine load factor in order to plan downline allocation or backloading space through reviewing and managing of forecasts, bookings, shipments in the pipe and un-forecasted projects
  • Manage and execute COD requests.
  • Operationalize the Equipment Repositioning Plan, taking into consideration of prevailing changes in repositioning needs
  • Manage Trade-off between Laden and Empty Container match back according to the Equipment Repositioning Plan
  • Daily coordination with Trades, Local Agency & Operations counterparts to ensure that allocated network space resources are utilized as planned
  • Closely monitor daily network patterns and feedback to Trade opportunities or weaknesses to support the improvement of network design parameters (e.g. loadable capacities based on prevailing cargo profile, VSP move counts, port rotation sequence changes to resolve back-loading space issues).
  • In the event of network exceptions (eg. roll pool, port omission, void, misconnections, etc), explore options and develop cost and benefit evaluation for cargo recovery.
  • Liaise and coordinate with Vessel Planners on stowage and owners\' merit, ensuring good distribution of cargo volumes / weight / equipment size types.
  • Design systematic tracking tools and establish reports to provide visibility on critical choke points and performance, and take corrective measures where necessary.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree from recognized institutions, preferably in shipping or logistics and/or with at least 1 year of working experience in transportation or logistics industry would be preferred
  • Good knowledge of the maritime industry
  • Experience in network operations and revenue/yield management would be advantageous
  • Proficient in MS Excel (Vlookup / Pivot Table) would be highly preferred
  • Good communication and analytical skills
