Job Title : Category SupervisorReports To : Assistant Purchasing Manager / Purchasing ManagerInterface with : Operations DepartmentJob Purpose To oversee and monitor purchasing activities to achieve sales growth in assigned product lineDuties and ResponsibilitiesProduct Related Set and review max and min of outright items (quarterly or as per need) Create sales performance report analysis and recommendation for annual business review of outright* Provide analysis and recommendation to suppliers about the sales fluctuation Conduct store visit for price checking and comparison Canvass and secure best price for non brand or generic outright items and make tabulations for easy evaluation. Review reports on slow and non-moving items and over or under stock every month to be able to maintain the ideal sales to inventory ratio Review and tabulate new items submitted by supplier for easy comparison Review and make recommendations about store displays and maximizing space in store Monitoring and checking of sales behavior/performance of new items (weekly and quarterly) Monitoring and analyzing of stock replenishment report Monitoring and review of Open Purchase Orders Evaluate and review Purchase Orders of stock replenishment and seek approval from Purchasing manager / Asst Manager Evaluate and review stock transfer made between branches Monitoring of damages if are really pulled out or disposed Monitoring of stock in central warehouseManpower Related Conduct Product Training to new and existing Merchandisers monthly*Invite supplier to conduct training especially when there are new items to be introduced in store*Witness the discussion of merchandiser performance together with Operations and Human Resource dept. Assign Product Officers that will assist Audit during inventory and communicate to supplier the said activity when necessary Conduct Product Training to Sales personnelSupplier Related Entertains new suppliers and make a tabulation and comparison report for easy evaluation for non brand or generic outright items*Secure submission of the requirements of newly approved suppliers. Coordinates to supplier the merchandiser performance. Negotiates with suppliers the needs for discount, support, items and also concerns of other departments Create consolidated complaint report - manual report Analyze new items, price revision and promos. Performs other purchasing tasks that may be assigned from time to timeQualifications Graduate of any four year college degree (preferably: management, engineering, architecture graduate or equivalent) Experience in construction companies is a plus With experience in retail operations particularly in purchasing and warehousing activitiesCompetency RequirementsA.
