Job Description


JOB SUMMARY Handles all incoming inquiries for both groups and events. Effectively leads the customer through sales process to the point of a signed contract/offer. Communicated specifics of group/event to Event Management.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directly answer all incoming group inquiries/opportunities. To handle all incoming calls in the office within 3 rings and to follow up quotations within 3 -4 hours.
  • Builds rapport and effectively qualifies each business opportunity
  • Determines availability of space and rates using revenue management tools such as property sales strategy, forecast book, sales system. Seeks additional approval from Revenue Management / Director of Sales
  • Exhaust all avenues to sell hotel through alternative dates and/ or rates. If no alternative is determined, Sales Centre Executive Meeting Planner cross sells to another Marriott hotel(s)
  • Presents the benefits of the hotel to the customer
  • Input and maintains contract, account and opportunity information in sales system
  • Develops accurate contract/offer and sends to customer. Gain commitment of customer through signed contract/offer
  • Once signed contract/offer is received, completes accurate, detailed turnover documentation for Event Management
  • Strives to meet measurable targets and goals, as assigned for individual and team
  • Handling shopcalls towards goal set by department
  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum Diploma in Events Management and/or Hotel Management
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in handling Catering Sales of Conference section
  • Strong overall sales skills
  • Great communication skills
  • Proficiency in meeting room set-up, audio visual and other support services
  • Understands room blocks and room booking policies
  • Understanding of contract management and legalities
  • Understanding of sales strategy and need times as developed by revenue management
  • Understanding and achievement of team and individual goals
  • Software knowledge (Microsoft office)
  • Sales system knowledge
  • Able to start work anytime or within short notice period
