:

Responsibilities include the following:

  • To provide leadership in the development and daily operations and running of the Active Aging Centre (AAC), in line with the vision and mission of the Thye Hua Kwan Moral Charities.
  • To mentor, motivate and manage a team of AAC staff and volunteers.
  • To plan, budget and develop the AAC programmes and activities for seniors and volunteer management programmes.
  • To develop a network of support for seniors in need of assistance by working closely with management committee members, government agencies, grassroots and RC leaders, volunteers, donors and other service providers.
  • To conduct regular outreach to the seniors in identified HDB blocks/Private residences with the aim of registering all seniors within its service boundary and carry out regular visits to vulnerable seniors to monitor their well-being.
  • To uphold the good name and the positive image of Thye Hua Kwan Moral Charities at all times.
Programme Planning and Implementation
  • Develop and implement Outreach plan/follow-up visits to seniors in the identified blocks.
  • Develop and implement annual calendar plan of social and health activities for seniors.
  • Ensure that the programmes and activities meet the performance indicators and operating guidelines issued by MOH and AIC, or any other agency designated by the Ministry
e.g. the AAC Progress Report, administration of the Client Satisfaction Questinnaire (CSQ), reports on the programmes and services, outcomes, management framework etc.
  • Conduct needs assessment survey.
  • Initiate and update annually case record files for every elderly household in the identified blocks and capture the needs of the seniors.
  • Establish and motivate seniors to run mutual help groups.
  • Ensure that the activities and programmes of the AAC promotes a community climate of multi-racial tolerance, harmony and co-operation among residents.
  • Network with other agencies to establish additional avenues of help for the welfare of the seniors.
Alert Alarm System
  • Oversee and manage the Alert Alarm system (AAS) during the AAC\xe2\x80\x99s operating hours, rendering assistance when necessary.
  • Establish a system to manage the AAS outside operating hours and ensure that help continues to be available when needed, including a system of recalling staff outside operating hours.
Volunteer Development
  • Establish networks with local community-based services/resources, such as grassroots, social services, corporate organisations and schools, to engage volunteers to help run or assist in the programmes, start income generating activities, conduct outreach efforts, etc to match the needs of the seniors.
  • Recruit, interview and screen potential volunteers.
  • Provide and coordinate orientation of volunteers to their assigned role and the mission and objectives of the AAC.
  • Place volunteers to suitable positions and areas of need, such as administration of CSQ etc.
  • Supervise and support volunteers.
  • Establish a system of recognition for the volunteers.
  • Review and evaluate the volunteer programme to ensure relevance and to meet future needs.
  • Serve as the key communication link between the AAC and its volunteers.
Finance and Accounts
  • Oversee and review fund utilisation, including AAC\'s Petty Cash account.
  • Implement checks and controls in the handling of cash donations and official tax receipts.
  • Implement checks and controls in the accounting system to ensure timely submission of reports and proper accounting records and also to safeguard against misappropriation of the AAC\'s assets.
  • Coordinate the preparation of the AACbudgets and annual work plan.
  • Liaise with external auditors on the audit of the AAC\'s accounting.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum Diploma with a social service background experience

  • Proficient in speaking & writing English and 2nd language, ability to speak dialect will be an added advantage.
  • Pleasant personality, energetic and self-motivated.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • People oriented and passionate towards working with seniors and for seniors.
  • Caring, compassionate, has patience and respect for the dignity and privacy of the seniors.
  • Must not show favouritism to a particular ethnic, religion or age group; and strive to promote multi-racial and multi-religious interaction.
