Job Description


As CEO for various regional businesses, , you will be reporting direct to the Group CEO and Group Chairman and work closely with all Board Directors and business heads across the Group\'s global operations.

The primary responsibility of the CEO is to ensure the various businesses are stand-alone profit centres, completing projects to the satisfaction of the Clients in a profitable manner, ensuring delivery of high-quality services and generating new business to grow the subsidiaries.

As CEO of these businesses, you will also be responsible for devising and implementing a strategy to pivot the business to higher growth and higher margin business sectors such as infrastructure, sustainability etc.

Overall, the duties and responsibilities that accompany this position cover the following areas:

Detailed responsibilities include:

FINANCIAL/ CORPORATE GOVERNANCE * Review of major Fee proposals.
  • Fee Negotiations.
  • Enforce Meinhardt\'s Project Profitability Procedures.
  • Oversee Invoicing of businesses.
  • Oversee the Profit and Loss and cashflow of each business.
  • Advise the accounts team and business divisions where necessary to collect client payments.
  • Administration Management.
  • Drive and develop the Consultancy business.
  • Oversee the Management and financial Performance of all businesses in the company.
  • Oversee and enforce the Group\'s adherence to sound and prudent corporate & governance and risk management.
  • Attend monthly Management Meetings and Review on Operational Performance of the Business Divisions.
TECHNICAL * Oversee the performance of each business in terms of Project/technical delivery.
  • Oversee each business in in terms of Delivery and client satisfaction/requirements.
  • Oversee Concept / planning reports & other deliverables and chair all design/planning Presentations and oversee that ISO Procedure are being implemented.
  • Ensure that QA/QC reviews of critical design areas are being carried out by Senior People in the Group.
  • Oversee project design and documentation.
  • Reviewing the information issued by the Business Divisions for costing and tendering purposes to clients/QS.
  • Assist in resolving any technical problems faced by the Business Divisions during the project design and/or construction stages, where required.
  • Overseeing Presentations to clients for complex/larger Projects.
  • Overseeing systems to ensure the correctness and timely production of all works.
  • Oversee co-ordination of work undertaken by external sub-consultants, design checkers and planners.
  • Oversee customization of the master specifications and/or planning guidelines for specific project conditions where relevant.
ADMINSTRATIVE/MANAGEMENT & STAFFING * Allocate projects to teams upon award, where applicable, in conjunction with Country and Business Managers. For all major projects, the Group CEO should be consulted.
  • Oversee resource planning, adjustments and redeployment to match the business\'s workload, growth targets in conjunction with the Business Managers.
  • Determine the feasibility of undertaking the projects in relation to company resources (adequacy of resources vs time constraints).
  • Chair Country level and business division meetings and present minutes to the Group CEO / Group Chairman.
  • Lead, develop and manage the team of engineers, planners, project managers, technicians and administrative staff in each business to ensure a high level of technical quality and commercial performance.
  • Oversee any HR issues in the businesses.
  • Oversee regular staff appraisals and agree performance targets for development.
  • Forward planning in relation to work ahead and revenue/resource forecasting.
CLIENT LIAISON/MARKETING * Lead the Marketing effort of all businesses under your purview to secure adequate business/new work as per the Group strategy and targets.
  • Spearhead the Group\'s relationship\'s with key clients and government agencies in Singapore and overseas in line with your responsibilities.
  • Arrange meetings with new clients and maintain Market Intelligence for new Projects.
  • Attend Presentations with the technical teams to win Projects.
  • Build trust and respect with clients (most clients do not know the technical aspects of the project so we must put relationships in front).
  • Actively participate in Business Development/Marketing and improving the image of the Group in Singapore and the relevant markets overseas.
  • Represent and enhance the image of the Group at external client\'s meetings and other industry functions.
  • Arrange and attend Marketing meetings (whenever possible).
  • Ensuring we get new business to meet yearly budgets/targets set by the Group Board.
MONITORING * Monitor Performance of the various businesses and key Staff.
  • Review of Staff\'s outputs and capabilities in conjunction with other regional businesses.
  • Periodic review of design progress on major projects.
  • Monitor performance and deadlines for major projects.
  • Review ISO quality practices within the Company.
  • Remedy adverse situations within the relevant business with guidance and leadership.
  • Ensure resources are adequate with over/understaffing.
COMMUNICATION * Lead the communication in words and writing with all internal and external stakeholders including Staff, Clients, Authorities and Contractors.
  • Enhancing the Group\'s reputation and image by verbally and by written communication.
  • Question operational practices to improve performance and build cohesive and loyal teams.
  • Maintain an open policy of communication in the company within confidentiality limits.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT * Develop and maintain liaison from a business development perspective with our existing clients and new clients.
  • Generate new opportunities for the business to bid in all recognised Business sectors.
  • Monitor the monthly performance of the Company from a sales perspective against yearly targets.
  • Attend presentations for new projects and co-ordinate with other offices where required.
  • Carry out after sales and client reviews, periodically.
  • Liaise with clients regularly and ensure their requests are dealt with efficiently.
  • Help to oversee Bid deadlines are met.
  • Monitor competitor activity and discuss internally to devise strategy.
  • Monitor the Business Development leads (best bets) and advise the Company accordingly.
  • Oversee Marketing and Corporate events.
  • Oversee the process of updating and improving marketing materials.
  • Where possible, ensure all business development opportunities are maximised.
  • Strengthen working relationships with existing Clients and assist in securing new commissions and Clients.
Requirements :
  • Degree/Master in Engineering;
  • 20+ years of relevant professional experience including leadership roles in multi-disciplinary firms;
  • Specific experience in South, Central Asia, Africa region;
  • Hands on and prepared to travel extensively.
