The CG Artist is responsible for designing and creating the motion of computer graphics characters within a shot. He/She oversees the animation of a sequence of shots on a specific production. He/She undertakes research and analyses functional communication requirements. He/She uses a variety of animation software programs to facilitate animation work. He/She determines various aesthetic solutions to meet client needs. He/She formulates design concepts and communicates design solutions to the clients. He/She participates as a team member to determine various aesthetic solutions. He/She guides and provides technical assistance to junior Animators. ~ Animate a range of basic movement sequences.
~ Create fluid, particle and rigid body effects.
~ Design facial set-up of characters.
~ Engage in technical and aesthetic problem solving efforts.
~ Implement animation rig for skeleton and animation controls.
~ Implement lip sync for 3D animation.
~ Make highly detailed and realistic 3D scenes and characters.
~ Modify or rework existing motion graphics assets.
~ Organize complicated sets of animation data.
~ Translate 2D concept arts into 3D game models.
~ Troubleshoot and debug animation issues.
~ Work closely with programmers to establish and refine the animation pipeline.
