The Chef de Partie is responsible for overseeing a specific section of the kitchen (e.g., grill, sauce, garnish). In a steakhouse, this role requires deep knowledge of meat preparation, grilling techniques, and plating standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook high-quality meat and side dishes to the steakhouse's standards
Manage the assigned section of the kitchen efficiently and independently
Ensure mise en place is complete before service
Monitor portion and waste control to maintain cost efficiency
Assist in ordering and inventory control
Train and supervise junior staff (Commis)
Maintain hygiene and food safety standards in accordance with regulations
Collaborate with Sous Chef and Head Chef to develop and improve recipes
Requirements:
At least 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a steakhouse or Western kitchen
Strong knowledge of beef cuts, cooking temperatures, and grill equipment
Good leadership and organizational skills
Passion for food quality and presentation
Able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
