Role Overview



The CEO (Africa) will lead the Group's strategy, operations, and growth initiatives across the African continent. This role requires a visionary leader with proven ability to scale businesses, navigate diverse regulatory environments, and build strong partnerships across financial services, technology, and government sectors. The CEO will serve as the face of the Group in Africa, driving market expansion, operational excellence, and stakeholder value creation.


Key Responsibilities



Strategic Leadership



Develop and execute the Group's Africa strategy, aligned with global corporate objectives. Identify growth opportunities across insurance, fintech, and adjacent industries. Anticipate market trends and position the business as an industry leader.

Business Development & Partnerships



Forge and strengthen relationships with regulators, insurers, distributors, banks, and ecosystem partners. Drive new business ventures, product innovation, and cross-border collaborations. Represent the company in key industry forums, conferences, and media.

Operational & Financial Performance



Oversee P&L across African markets, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability. Implement operational excellence frameworks to improve efficiency and scalability. Ensure compliance with local regulations and governance standards.

Team Leadership & Culture



Build and mentor a high-performing, diverse leadership team across markets. Foster a culture of integrity, accountability, and innovation. Ensure alignment between regional teams and global headquarters.

Risk & Governance



Establish strong governance structures to manage financial, regulatory, and operational risks. Uphold transparency and ethical standards across all business units.

Qualifications & Experience



Proven track record as a CEO, MD, or senior executive in insurance, banking, fintech, or related industries in Africa. Strong understanding of African market dynamics, including regulatory frameworks and cultural nuances. Demonstrated success in scaling businesses across multiple geographies. Experience in stakeholder management with boards, regulators, and multinational partners. Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
