In planning for the combined HSBC Life Singapore Executive Committee, we are seeking a high calibre professional to assume the role of Chief Financial Officer, HSBC Life Singapore. Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all regulatory, statutory and management financial reporting in the entity, in accordance with best practice, regulatory and financial reporting, and in line with guidelines.Lead the actuarial, finance and investment management functions.
  • A member of the senior leadership team for the country insurance company and for developing and supporting the strategy.
  • Understand individual product profitability and ensure financial risks are within the business\'s risk appetite
  • Ensure strong cost disciplines are in place, and the business is run efficiently.
  • Ensure the capital within the company is optimized while being sufficient to meet all regulatory requirements
  • Work with the Insurance leadership team to optimize the investment strategy, and responsible for the investment accounting
  • Oversight of actuarial results including review and assumptions used, control over processes and analysis of results
  • Responsible to the country insurance management to contribute to the business aims and long term strategy
  • Accountable to Group Insurance Finance to provide good analysis of trading, financial reporting with appropriate analytical review, analysis of the actuarial results, stress testing and investment accounting.
  • Maintain a strong control environment, ensuring the processes producing the financial numbers and analysis are robust.
  • Compliance with external regulatory requirements, and group compliance policy

  • Extensive leadership experience at Executive level with a strong capacity to innovate and find solutions
  • Proven and progressive leadership and communication skills, ability to lead change, influence and actively drive performance
  • Deep subject matter expertise in insurance finance, including deep domain knowledge in actuarial matters and a top level financial qualification (actuarial, accounting or similar).
  • Robust controllership skills
  • Demonstrated working ability and knowledge of investment, economic and accounting principles, financial markets, and the analysis and reporting of financial data
  • Proven experience managing funding, liquidity and capital risk in an Insurance business
  • Experience and ability in resolving complex issues through leadership, influence and negotiation
  • Good level of business acumen and commercial awareness, including economic, cultural, procedural and regulatory issuesExcellent interpersonal skills with an ability to interact, influence, and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong track record of engaging, challenging and influencing business performance in the insurance industry
  • High level of personal integrity and values in line with HSBC core values
