Key Responsibilities * Develop, stimulate and coordinate policy relevant research locally and in the region for the development, review, implementation and evaluation of programmes to enhance the h Key Responsibilities Develop, stimulate and coordinate policy relevant research locally and in the region for the development, review, implementation and evaluation of programmes to enhance the health of ageing populations Develop, stimulate and coordinate local and regional translational research to enable translation of evidence to pragmatic programs and policies that support a continuum of care from healthy ageing through to healthy dying Develop, stimulate and coordinate research that can produce evidence-based norms, standards, methods and tools to tailor health services, communities, social and community services, families, and which enhances and promotes older people's participation Develop, stimulate and coordinate research that sustains the economic case for a system based approach to policies and programs that enables healthy ageing and dying thereby creating a living environment that is also suited to ageing populations and increasing longevity Develop programmes that can sustain healthy ageing and healthy dying that is appropriate to different levels of socio-economic development in East, South-East Asia and the Pacific Develop partnerships with international partners, bilateral and multi-lateral donors, funding charities and foundations, and relevant inter-governmental agencies to advance the agenda of healthy ageing and dying, differentiated by the needs of high- and low- cum middle-income environments Promote both healthy aging and dying, and the development of ageing-friendly environments using an inter-sectoral approach Communicate Tsao Foundations vision for health ageing and healthy dying at different international platforms Shape Tsao Foundations programme and research outputs for dissemination in forms that are appropriate for different audiences Requirements Advanced degrees in Epidemiology, Geography/Health Services and Systems Research PhD or combination of PhD and MSc in different areas preferred Experience of working with major intergovernmental agencies especially the WHO and the OECD on population ageing and/or health services are essential Good grasp of health financing for health care At least 2 years of experience of working on ASEAN issues related to population ageing and at least 10 years of working experience on policy, programme, service or research issues on population ageing in low- and middle-income country environments Experience of negotiating an agenda and applying that agenda in health at national levels Salary will commensurate with experience.
