Responsible for selling GMD products to existing customers of the Bank and liaising with other areas of the Bank with the aim of attracting business from potential new customers. The client focus is SGP subsidiaries of China based corporates.

Key Responsibilities
1. Strategy and Business Planning
Market products by speaking with customers about their needs, financial markets and propose suitable ideas and recommendations. The approach varies according to the customers and the products: E.g. Corporates - provide information on the markets and advising the customers on how to hedge exposures (for e.g. develop products to reduce the impact of movements).
Identify, target and solicit new customers.
Responsible for some aspects of transaction structuring and work with structuring teams to provide support in developing new or complex transaction structures.
Originate transactions from clients and co-ordinate the efficient execution of the trading desk.
Formulate marketing plans and relate these to marketing opportunities.
Be aware of all economic and financial data likely to affect the products being marketed.
Develop knowledge of client needs and co-ordinate the Bank's efforts to service customer organisations.
Plan and organise client visits and meetings.
Liaise with Relationship Managers / Senior Bankers in other areas of the bank regarding marketing opportunities.
Aim to meet individual objectives and targets and overall team and product line budget.

Management and Reporting
Report to the Head of Corporate Sales/LGMD based in Singapore and functionally to Head of corporate sales China daily on an informal basis on the progress of the business and specific issues.
Attend a weekly meeting with the Sales team to review market strategy, exchange ideas and receive updates on any important administrative matters.
3. Control
Ensure clients are suitably classified and are dealt with appropriately.
Ensure clients are cleared by credit, legal, compliance and back office before trading.
Ensure the trade monitoring of counterparty risk
4. Risk
Adhere to and understand risks to the bank and the client resulting from marketing initiatives or successful conclusion of transactions.
5. Communication
Entertain clients to promote the bank and its products.
Network with contacts in the business to generate business for the GMD product line.
6. Legal and Regulatory Responsibilities
Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal Compliance requirements, including, but not limited to, Singapore Compliance manual and Compliance policies and procedures as issued from time to time; Financial Security requirements, including, but not limited to, the prevention of Financial Crime and Fraud including reporting obligations to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer.
Maintain appropriate knowledge to ensure to be fully qualified to undertake the role. Complete all mandatory training as required to attain and maintain competence.
To be RNF by MAS and take the relevant papers required.
Role Requirements
Master/ Bachelor degree holders, with strong academic background in Finance, Economics or Business, with minimum 12 months' full time experience.
Strong analytical skills and quantitative skills, prior experience in global financial markets products will be an advantage
Strong communication and people skills to interact with colleagues and clients; and innovative problem solving skills with ability to provide analysis and solutions
Self-motivated and detail minded with a strong sense of commitment and responsibility
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other PC applications
Responsible, self initiative, positive attitude, attentive to details & hardworking
Fluent in both written and spoken English and Mandarin
* A strong understanding of the Chinese corporate business is important. Having worked in China will be a plus.
