CIB-Operations is dedicated to supporting our business in their goal to build long-term, sustainable relationships with the Bank’s key institutional clients, while delivering strong returns to stakeholders. Our vision is to “Transform CIB-Operations by delivering a platform that provides competitive operating leverage and protects the Bank and its clients.” The CIB-Operations teams are recognized as key to business profitability, playing a crucial role in managing clients, risk and minimizing losses. This is done by ensuring that business activities are carried out in an efficient, controlled and timely manner. The role of CIB-Operations covers a wide range of activities. Following the buying and selling of financial products and services by the bank, we ensure that each transaction is captured accurately and in a timely manner to ensure effective risk management, cleared, documented and confirmed, settled and reconciled, all within a tightly controlled environment in adherence with global regulatory requirements. We are split into 4 main sub-divisions:

  • Debt Trading and Emerging Markets
  • Global Equities and Network Management
  • Markets Clearing & Collateral Management (MCCM)
  • Regulatory and Control Cross Product Operations (RCP)
The roles will be responsible for providing guidance & oversight to ensure seamless settlement date processes (pre-matching and confirmation, trade processing, cash transfer, instruction routing, depot and inventory management, funding and settlement monitoring) and post-settlement date processes (fails management and reconciliations). It also requires interaction and engagement with Technology, Audit including interfaces with different internal and external stakeholders (front office, clients, brokers, Nostro agents, exchanges and clearing houses) involved in the settlement process chain, according to the market standards. It also provides guidance to the e-Commerce team to ensure resolution of day-to-day client trading issues, escalating P&L exceptions, Client outage management and ensuring all clients requests/trading issues are attended and resolved in an accurate and timely manner from e-Commerce Operations perspective. Your key responsibilities
  • Providing input/s into the creation of the goals
  • Provide direction and Manage performance of the team.
  • Driving transformation and continuous improvement & leading programs as required from time to time
  • Be hands-on with process and controls
  • Manage and foster relationships with various stakeholders and/or vendors.
  • Create robust management and team structures through recruitment & people development initiatives, ensuring the team is positioned well to execute a high standard of delivery and results within a controlled environment.
  • Act as an escalation point for department, controls, key process and risk indicators.
  • Be accountable for budgets, vendor relationship and cost management.
  • Lead by example in supporting the Bank wide regulatory agenda, recognition and management of risk.
  • Managing and supporting Audits (internal and external)
  • Proactively perform periodic reviews of processes , associated risks to establish a strong controls environment
  • The Operation Manager is also ultimately responsible for the performance of teams, supervisors and individual contributors.
  • Perform Talent reviews & create a strong leadership bench and successors
  • Ensure risk indicators, controls, service level agreements and vendor management are adhered to and evidenced; this includes creating a strong culture of risk mitigation and management.
  • Coach, develop and mentor staff
  • Learn, Develop and upgrade his/ her own skills
Your skills and experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Business or equivalents
  • Proven leadership experience in Corporate and Investment Banking gained from the Financial Services, Banking and BPO industry
  • Exposure to Markets Operations, Securities Services , Listed Derivatives or similar is preferred
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
