Asset Reference Data Services (ARDS)

ARDS was created with the mission to help improve the quality, integrity, and reliability of the firm's critical data covering the Instrument and Pricing domains and sits within Securities Services. The organization's objectives are to deliver business impact through fit-for-purpose data, improve data capabilities across multiple lines of businesses (LOBs), implement data controls, and deliver reference data. ARDS establishes expectations that drive consistent data governance practices, develops technologies and processes to support data governance capabilities, partners with LOBs to embed data governance best practices and capabilities, and ensures sustainability by refining, measuring, and improving the ability to manage data.

Within ARDS, the Instrument Reference Data Operations teams provide high quality Reference Data to its subscribers from major external market providers under a single operating model. Asset prices and instrument attributes are sourced, validated, mastered and distributed via J.P. Morgan's strategic Reference Data architecture and is used for trading, risk management, fund valuation, settlement and regulatory reporting.

Role Description:

We are seeking a Data Analyst in operations at the Analyst level. The role is based in Singapore and will provide operational support and data management for our Securities Services, Markets and AWM businesses. The analyst will be responsible for creating, maintaining and investigating reference data across the firm's strategic instrument reference data platform (GIM) and various legacy applications acting as guardians of that data and responding to request and queries from the users. The role will also manage data quality and exceptions for reference data operations, working with a team of data analyst. . The role will work closely with professionals across Instrument and Pricing. The individual will ensure a robust control framework and effective global operating model are being used to service the APAC businesses. The successful candidate should be able to provide strategic initiatives on improving reference data operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for following the global operating model is effectively servicing the instrument and pricing requirements for the APAC businesses strongly focused on Securities Services and Markets business at JPM
  • Create new instruments for various Instruments including Equities, Debt, ABS and Equity Derivatives products in Reference Data system.
  • Update/modify assets based on internal client initiated changes (Middle Office, Trade Support, Settlements or Corporate Actions).
  • Provide subject matter expertise support to downstream teams and clients
  • Ensure proper controls are in place to reduce financial risks, implement procedures to enforce controls and ensure controls are adhered to
  • Resolve client queries promptly and professionally
  • Contribute to ongoing developments of the instrument control process
  • As the team covers the APAC region, staggered shift work and working on public holidays is required
  • Ad-hoc project work when required

Qualifications:
  • Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree (in Finance, Science or Technology) or equivalent
  • At least 1 year work experience in Financial Services is required
  • Strong market data vendor knowledge/experience, i.e. Bloomberg, Refinitiv.
  • Knowledge of industry activities, corporate actions, index tracking and capital markets is preferred
  • Good understanding of broad financial instruments and products required
  • Self-motivated and proactive with the proven ability to work accurately and under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Good analytical/problem solving skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate within a team environment and interact across departments
  • Demonstrate customer focus and follow-up skills
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to analyze, mine and query data to formulate solutions and efficiencies is preferred
