Practice Leader, Marine, AsiaIn this role, you will be part of the Asia Claims Team and APAC & Europe Claims Practice Team, driving technical excellence in Marine claims across Asia. You will report to the Head of Claims, Asia, with a dotted reporting line to the Head of Technical Claims and Exposure Management, APAC & Europe.DISCOVER your opportunityWhat will your essential responsibilities include?You will provide guidance for key decisions across large losses and complex claims to the local claims teams, adhere to a portfolio view of the large losses, support local teams and focus on technical claims handling, training, client service, business alignment and continuous improvement.The key to success is collaboration. You will work along with key stakeholders such as; the local claim teams, the Marine global practice lead, underwriters, actuaries, legal and other departments so as to deliver optimal client service.Key responsibilities:

  • Provide superior service to clients and brokers and ensure this is adhered to by all colleagues. Continuously identify any areas where this can be improved and share the same with colleagues / management
  • Provide oversight and direction related to coverage analysis, investigation, reserve analysis and strategic resolution of large and complex Marine claims across Asia
  • Adhere to the large loss governance in respect of Marine claims across Asia, ensure consistency in the execution of the same, attend watchlist / roundtable meetings and provide relevant input on strategic resolution / reserving (IBNR or case)
  • Leading the claims response along with interested stakeholders to catastrophes and other major events for Marine and reporting to the leadership teams
  • Championing technical training and development to the local claims teams as well as other interested stakeholders
  • Support underwriting teams with claim trends, identify and share lessons learned, marketing and business alignment as well as attend client meetings
  • Align with reporting requirements and requests from the regional Head of Claims and assist in the implementation of the Asia Claims Action Plan.
  • Assist the Head of Technical Claims & Exposure Management with reporting and controls in respect of Marine claims across Asia.
  • Collaborate with other Practice Leaders across the region and globally so as to ensure consistency in the execution of the Practice governance;
  • Establish a clear line of communcaition on regular basis with reserving actuaries.

  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree and / or relevant experience
  • Minimum 10+ years experience in managing Marine claims
  • Technical knowledge of the relevant Marine products
  • Experience in claims portfolio management
  • Fluent in English and other languages desirable
