Job Overview: Responsible for business development and managing existing business portfolios and clients and broker relationships of Munich Re Syndicate Singapore for the assigned market(s) within So Job Overview: Responsible for business development and managing existing business portfolios and clients and broker relationships of Munich Re Syndicate Singapore for the assigned market(s) within South East Asia region. This role will report both to Managing Director and Head of P&C, Southeast Asia, as well as CEO of Munich Re Syndicate Singapore. Key Responsibilities: Develop, define and implement strategies to grow the business and maximize the profit potential for assigned markets and the clients, consistent with divisional priorities and line of business appetite. Be the primary point of contact for the assigned clients and markets, and their designated brokers with respect to all their reinsurance requirements. Build strong relationships with clients that can provide strategic insights on evolving needs and value derived from the Munich Re relationship. Drive sustainable growth in line with the defined strategies and targets for the assigned market. Develop and maintain deep and thorough understanding of assigned clients, particularly of their key underwriting, capital and risk management objectives. Collaborate closely with the relevant internal stakeholders in the execution of the defined strategies including delivery of new products and value added services within the assigned markets and clients, with responsibility for the results. Lead market team in developing new business opportunities and servicing the in-force business. Ensure consistent understanding of target objectives and strategy for achieving desired outcomes. Work closely with key stakeholders internally and externally to identify trends and new opportunities. Market the full Munich Re Group product range, including pitching new products and services as appropriate for the client's needs. Share the Munich Re perspective on important industry issues at industry events and individual client/broker meetings. Be the assigned market expert and connect to all relevant stakeholders in the market. Skills and Competencies: Approximately 5-10years in the Reinsurance industry and/or relevant insurance experience (underwriting, account executive, and/or actuarial, preferred) Strategic thinker who can develop effective action plans to achieve desired outcomes. Entrepreneurial and collaborative spirit Strong interpersonal and social skills with a special focus on relationship management Strong leadership skills needed to manage client teams in a matrix reporting environment Effective presentation skills with ability to explain complex transaction structures to both technical and non-technical audiences Strong sales orientation with ability to make a compelling link between Munich Re offerings and critical client needs. Ability to handle tough negotiations that result in win-win outcomes In-depth knowledge of insurance and reinsurance principles and procedures Familiarity with accounting, finance and actuarial concepts would be an added advantage. Willingness to travel Fluency in English is a must. Fluency in Bahasa Malaysia/Indonesia, and/or Mandarin would be an added advantage Enjoys working in a constantly changing and fast-paced environment Proactive and dynamic problem solver with a talent for dealing with ambiguity Self-starter but also a strong collaborator
