Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and inquisitive

Cloud Application Engineer

to support the Application Owner in managing, operating, and enhancing our cloud-based application. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical capabilities, hands-on problem-solving skills, and full-stack development experience. This role involves continuous improvement, solution development, and efficient application operations within a cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities

Analyse system issues, identify root causes, and deliver effective solutions in a full-stack development environment. Implement application enhancements and maintain day-to-day operations of cloud-based systems. Utilize and explore AWS features and services, including managing support cases with AWS Support. Handle code deployment using Git workflows, branching strategies, and AWS SAM pipelines. Develop and maintain data models aligned with business objects and UI/UX requirements. Classify data appropriately and apply IAM practices, secrets management, WAF, API protection, and compliance frameworks (e.g., CSA Cloud Controls Matrix). Evaluate UI design and recommend improvements based on best practices. Use statistical methods to transform, interpret, and present data for business insights.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience. 5-6 years of hands-on experience as a Cloud Application Developer, ideally in a full-stack role. Strong understanding of data modelling and its application to business processes. Solid knowledge of UI design principles and ability to identify areas for improvement. Proficiency in JavaScript, Node.js, NPM, and Angular. Experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL including schema design and performance optimization. Strong communication, multitasking, and time management skills. Experience with AWS cloud services, including: AWS Serverless Application Model (SAM) AWS CLI and deployment best practices Lambda, API Gateway Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines for disciplined code deployment and version control.
