Job Description

This role supports the World-Wide Operations team with various activities including system and module costing, variance analysis, WIP reconciliations and gross margin reporting for the Chemical-Mechanical Planarization (CMP) business unit. The Costing/Gross Margin analyst will gain full understanding of material flow through SAP and learn about the Applied Materials product portfolio.

We are seeking a self-motivator to support a highly innovative and dynamic manufacturing business unit, that operates in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment. Responsibilities would include:

• Performs analysis on built material costs to ensure correct valuation compared to Bill of Materials and reconciles weekly
• Analyzes Production Order Material Variances & communicates with Operations to resolve issues identified during variance analysis
• Provides support to World-Wide Operations teams to resolve systemic issues related to Finance attributes which prevent transactions from processing
• Completes detailed requirements for monthly / quarterly close processes including Work In Progress, Finished Goods, Deferred & Eval inventory
• Performs financial analysis to support gross margin reporting and bridge commentary for all forecast cycles for finance and non-finance executives
• Provides support of S1 gross margin reporting
• Leads aged WIP inventory review and provides reserve analysis
• Leads Balance Sheet review meetings with Finance/Corporate Accounting
• Supports team lead in performing ad-hoc analysis
• Participates in team discussions to identify process improvements and execution of those projects, as well as user acceptance testing / sign-off
• Works closely with internal auditors to address SOX requirements
• Builds strong working relationships with cross functional teams across US and APAC regions

Job Requirements

• BS in Finance/Accounting required
• 5-7 years of relevant working experience including project management skills
• Problem solving ability demonstrated to provide practical business insights
• Basic negotiations skills (timelines, resources)
• Highly motivated with excellent analytical, written and presentation skills
• Proficient in SAP, analytical and modelling skills using Excel and Powerpoint
• Tableau, Data Analytics, Data Visualization skills a plus
