Haskoning Singapore Pte. Ltd. provides consultancy services across various engineering disciplines through our business lines: Water & Maritime (W&M), Industry & Buildings (I&B) and Mobility & Infrastructure (M&I). The Advisory Group (AG) Water Singapore is currently seeking a Coastal Modeller with a background in coastal modelling related projects, based in Singapore.


Given the expanding portfolio of climate adaptation, coastal engineering, and flood resilience services in Singapore, AG Water Singapore seeks to appoint a Coastal Modeller to lead and provide support on coastal and climate-risk related projects. This individual will offer expert consultancy, engineering and design input for substantial and complex climate adaptation projects while supporting project teams with their modelling expertise.

YOUR ROLE

Develop, calibrate, validate coastal hydrodynamics, storm surge, wave, sediment transport and water quality models developed with a variety of software (e.g. Delft3D, SWAN, SWASH, MIKE, XBeach). Execute and manage consultancy projects related to coastal projects and real-time control applications within projects. Support in preparing technical reports and technical meeting presentation for projects. Support in documentation related to consultancy projects and model development. Communicate with project managers and team leads to discuss project progress and project related matters on a regular basis. Contribute to technical proposals.
The listed scope of duties may be occasionally redrafted on an ad hoc basis, nevertheless, remaining within the scope of duties of the role of Coastal Modeller.

Skills, qualifications and experience

Bachelor's degree in relevant fields (Environmental/Civil engineering, Water Resources Management), or Master's degree in Numerical Modelling 1 to 3 years of relevant experience Solid understanding of coastal hydrodynamics and marine/coastal processes Experience in working with marine/coastal processes and related software packages Able to communicate and present ideas clearly within and outside of own domain. You are a team-player

IT WILL BE A BONUS IF YOU

Have experience in inland modelling, such as catchment modelling Are familiar with the Deltares and DHI software suites Have experience with scripting languages (e.g., R, Python, MATLAB) Have experience in management of consultancy projects Have experience with QGIS, or other geospatial software Have experience on Singapore projects
