What a College Intern - R&D Embedded Firmware Engineering does at HP:
Design enhancements and programming changes for portions and subsystems of embedded firmware and related tools for HP print products and solutions, including networking connectivity, user interface, print mechanism, device drivers, image processing etc.
Analyze design and determine coding and integration activities required based on general objectives and knowledge of overall architecture of product or solution.
Write automated tests and execute complete testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portion of the application.
Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:
Education in Computer/Electronics Engineering or Computer Science.
Knowledge in Linux, Python (or other scripting language) C, C++ and test automation.
Understanding of basic testing, coding and debugging procedures.
Good analytical skills, ability to think out of box, work with minimal guidance and under tight schedule.
