We are currently seeking an oil and gas professional with strong commercial acumen and problem-solving skills to join our dynamic Central Origination and Commercial (COC) organization. Ideal candidate should be natural team player and have an eye for innovation and continuous improvement.
This Central Origination and Commercial role will be responsible to provide commercial expertise across the full crude and products value chain for Asia Pacific Upstream, Midstream and Downstream, as well as support the origination and business development efforts for Chevron\xe2\x80\x99s Supply & Trading group, with a focus on crude, feedstock and oil products.
The position will maintain a strong internal network including different commodities trading groups within Chevron Upstream in Asia, Chevron Supply & Trading (S&T), Value Chain Optimization (VCO), Shipping, Finance and Legal, Corporate Business Development (CBD), Chevron New Energies (CNE), amongst others to create natural work teams to pursue commercial opportunities in the most effective way possible, depending on the scope and specifics of those opportunities. This role will report into the Asia Central Origination Manager.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Act as consultant to Upstream, S&T, Refining and VCO teams on commercial decisions and opportunities.
Advising Upstream on commercial areas including:
- Crude and condensate marketing
- Transportation development
- Blending economics
- Off-take and operation agreements
- Crude and condensate pricing
Working as part of the COC team to develop and commercialize the pipeline of origination opportunities, with focus on crude, feedstock and oil products, ranging from short to medium term opportunities, to longer term strategic alliances, and/or value chain infrastructure commitments.
Networks and leverages existing industry relationships to generate leads, supports and/or develops commercial opportunities, gathers market intel.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong understanding of crude/condensate quality and valuation, supply chains, transportation as well as technical refining experience is essential.
Able to work independently to research using consultant reports and other news sources to assess and develop views on potential origination opportunities.
Experience with and ability to participate effectively as part of a team, internally and cross-functionally; ability to coordinate activities and address discrepancies between trading teams, operations, legal, contracts and credit. Able to lead and leverage resources of a team to drive results
Experience in oil and gas supply and trading is preferred (e.g. in crude, feedstock and oil products origination and/or business development)
Some travel is to be expected
