The right candidate should have experience in French Fine Dining Restaurant. : A Commis Chef at Restaurant JAG (a 1 Michelin Star French Fine Dining Establishment) plays a pivotal role in contributing towards creating memorable experiences for the diners. The ideal person is jovial and a good listener. This position requires one to be detail oriented and reserved. A love for food is a must. Finally, the position requries one to be on the move for most of their work day as a restaurant operation requries it. The bold strokes of the work involved are as follows: - learning the ideology of cuisine at JAG - supporting the executive chef and the team in the operations' management of the kitchen at JAG - learning and understanding the flavour profiles and uses of the library of inigenous herbs from Savoie - in use at JAG - learning and executing as instructed - the tasks allocated by the executive chef - learning to prepare for, cook and execute dishes allocated to you by the executive chef. - taking charge of the team in accordance with the direction of the executive chef The perks of being a JAG team member include but are not limited to: - a thorough training in all sections of the kitchen through a section change every three months - mentorship programme through being attached to a trainer - a very pro-education approach - full comprehensive medical insurance - a taxi to take you home when a shift finishes past public transport hours - closed on public holidays - tuesday to thursday (dinner only) with fridays to saturdays (lunch and dinner).
