Join us and become a Heartistxc2xae.We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our esteemed culinary team in the role of Commis Cook. This position offers an opportunity for career advancement in a world-class culinary environment.As a Commis Cook, your critical responsibilities will include:

  • Execute fundamental kitchen duties with utmost precision, including meticulous fruit and vegetable preparation, and efficient food item distribution throughout the hotel
  • Contribute to the culinary team by meticulously assisting in the plating of dishes, ensuring unwavering consistency and strict adherence to presentation standards
  • Rigorously follow standardized recipes and specifications to maintain impeccable quality control and consistency in food preparation
  • Maintain immaculate cleanliness and organization of work areas, including refrigeration units, countertops, and cooking surfaces, adhering to the highest standards of hygiene
  • Implement and strictly adhere to station opening and closing procedures according to established protocols
  • Minimize overproduction and food waste through precise inventory management, including accurate labeling, rotation, and storage of food items
  • Operate kitchen equipment in strict compliance with safety protocols, promptly reporting any malfunctions or deficiencies to ensure uninterrupted kitchen operations
  • Ensure absolute adherence to food safety guidelines in all aspects of food handling, storage, preparation, and service
  • Actively participate in maintaining a safe working environment and contribute significantly to health and safety initiatives
  • Comply rigorously with all hotel environmental policies and sustainability practices
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by kitchen management with the utmost diligence and professionalism

The role of Commis Cook is integral to the success of our culinary operations and requires a serious, dedicated professional.Qualifications
  • Minimum Professional Certificate in a Culinary-related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the Food & Beverage industry (hotel and free-standing restaurant) in a similar position
  • A WSQ Food Safety certificate is an advantage
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of colleagues
  • Service-oriented with an eye for details
  • Multicultural awareness and ability to work and thrive within a culturally diverse environment
  • Good presentation and influencing skills
  • Ability to work independently and have good initiative in a dynamic environment
  • Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Singapore. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining work authorization documents.
