ASM currently has an opportunity for an experienced Commodity Manager with energy, drive, motivation and sense of urgency. As an individual contributor to the team, you will ensure the ownership of Sheet Metal as a commodity, develop Commodity strategies and become the direct engagement point with suppliers. Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of global sourcing strategies and global supplier network capabilities for assigned categories to achieve key business goals: Time to Market, Cost Reduction, Lead Time Reduction and Supplier Business Continuity in ramp-up and ramp-down situations
  • Work closely with supplier managers and communicate commodity strategies across the organization, the Business Units and NPI Operations to ensure sourcing decisions and product development aligns with strategic supplier selections
  • Formulate negotiation strategy to proactively drive cost reduction with suppliers in a complex, high mix/ low volume environment to meet strategic, operational and \xef\xac\x81nancial performance targets
  • Total commodity ownership, including supplier relationship management in alignment with the needs of the business and the global supply strategy, inclusive of actively approaching the supplier market by means of investigating, screening, pre-selection of and negotiation with new or alternative suppliers for a product group/line of business
  • Support Global Sourcing Director on the negotiations of complex agreements with suppliers encompassing key program speci\xef\xac\x81cations and functional objectives
  • Responsible for total commodity performance: measure and manage vs. key targets, compliance to agreements and implementing improvement roadmaps to address gaps
  • Work e\xef\xac\x80ectively with internal stakeholders cross-functionally and cross-regionally, as well as those of external partnerships who are critical to meeting key objectives
  • Maintain and provide current understanding on industry and technology trends for the assigned categories
  • Acting as interface between suppliers and business regarding strategic and tactical issues, pricing, quality while maintaining continuity of supply. Facilitate work through others, and driving the team to closure
  • Routinely performs supply risk assessments, and drives mitigation plans accordingly, including setting up and working out of secondary and/or alternative supplier routes in regard to the procurement of strategically important and critical products/goods

Education & Experience:
  • 10+ years of experience in semiconductor supply chain, manufacturing or similar high technology manufacturing environment
  • 10+ years of work-related experience in Procurement or Commodity management, with demonstrated increase of responsibilities
  • Experience in Build to print, Sheet Metal fabrication, or Machining. Operational background a plus
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree with related experience or Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or similar \xef\xac\x81eld
  • Good command of written and spoken English
  • Excels in Communicating, Customer Focus, Initiative and Results Drive
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints
