Key Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:

  • Keep Christ central in individual and corporate life. Actively participate in and contribute to the spiritual disciplines of the organization (Christian conduct, devotion, chapel, prayer, worship); incorporate WV Core Values into decisions within scope of role
  • Develop an annual communications strategy in agreement with internal (WVDF, Project ACE) stakeholders
  • Research, investigate, write, proofread, edit and execute documents that achieve the highest level of quality consistent with corporate identity as well as brand message and industry standards. Written copy may include but is not limited to the following: • Monthly newsletter that can be circulated to our national and US stakeholders
    • Quarterly success stories
    • Development of communication materials for Philippine/US audiences to share project related content (e.g. infographics, social media posts, printed products) (for National Children’s Month, World Day Against Child Labor, World Day Against Trafficking, International Day of the Girl – October 11, International Day for the Eradication of Poverty – October 17,World Children’s Day – November 20 and Human Rights Day – December 10), and others as deemed necessary.
  • Fill in the USDOL OCFT Content Tracker with what the project is planning for the national and international days listed above.
  • Maintain an annual calendar of all communications events, materials, posts, etc. and share with WVUS as things go ‘live’
  • Design and execute graphic art design and production of communication pieces for use in the project’s facebook account and IEC materials.
  • Actively participate in team meetings to develop strategy and concepts and propose solutions that meet client needs and exceed expectations.
  • Consult with other WVDF writing staff and clients to ensure clarity and consistency of final product.
  • Review creative copy to ensure that WV messaging and branding guidelines are adhered to.
  • Keep apprised of global events, ministry trends, and partnership issues that affect project content and stay abreast of new technologies and trends critical to writing techniques.
  • Manage projects assigned by supervisor adhering to deadlines and targeted message and ensuring that needed information is identified, meetings are scheduled, resource is gathered, deadlines are met, and client is kept apprised of any changes in project status.
  • Edit and proofread department projects.
  • Work collaboratively with team members when assigned to work as a member of a team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain awareness of corporate goals, objectives, organizational announcements, and activities.

Education:
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Development or Journalism or related field.

Experience:
  • Experience in integrating with team mates of professionals around common goals.
  • At least three years of experience in communications and social media content production.

Expertise:
  • Understanding of the humanitarian industry
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results and meet all donor deliverables.
  • Excellent representational and communication skills, written and oral proficiency in English, and verbal communication skills in one or more local languages (i.e. Filipino and Cebuano).
  • Excellent past performance references (Three contacts should be provided with e- mail address, phone, title, name)
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across technical disciplines;
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent computer and organizational skills.

Work Environment:
  • Openness to relocate in Quezon City
  • Minimum 30% travel to the project areas
