Summary

The Community Engagement Executive plays a crucial role in fostering positive relationships between the mosque and its community. This position involves developing and implementing strategies to engage and connect with various stakeholders, including community members, organisations, and local leaders. The Community Engagement Executive will work closely with internal teams to ensure alignment with the organisation's goals and values, while also identifying opportunities for collaboration and community-driven initiatives.

Primary Duties

Create and implement comprehensive plans to engage with the community, including organising events, workshops, and outreach programmes. Collaborate with internal teams to align community engagement efforts with the mosque's objectives. Establish and nurture relationships with community members, organisations, and local leaders. Act as a liaison between the mosque and the volunteers, ensuring effective communication and understanding of volunteers needs and concerns. Identify potential partnerships and collaborations with community organisations, businesses, and other stakeholders. Foster mutually beneficial relationships that support the mosque's goals and enhance community impact. Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of community-driven initiatives, such as volunteer programmes, community forums, and social impact projects. Ensure these initiatives align with the mosque's mission and values. Stay informed about community sentiment and concerns through various channels, such as surveys, social media, and community meetings. Provide regular updates to internal teams and management, highlighting areas of improvement or potential risks. Develop metrics and evaluation frameworks to measure the impact of community engagement efforts. Prepare regular reports and presentations to communicate the outcomes and effectiveness of these initiatives to stakeholders. Support volunteers by recommending training, workshops, and resources to enhance their volunteering skills and knowledge. Implement a sense of ownership within the community. Foster bonds with communities from other faiths through dialogues, collaborations, and joint activities. Represent the mosque at interfaith events to promote mutual understanding, respect, and harmony. Develop initiatives that encourage shared values such as compassion, service, and unity.

SECONDARY DUTIES:

Promote and support innovative and creative ways to generate income including fundraising initiatives and external funding via grants and sponsorship to ensure the ongoing sustainability of the unit and projects Provide support in District-based activities and initiatives Provide support in mosque event's operations and manpower requirements Provide support in department's collective initiatives, implementations and recommend plans for improvement

Requirements

Diploma/Degree in Communications, Community Development, Public Relations or a related field, or 5-years of relevant working experience Possess leadership skills, excellent communication skills, problem solving skills, interpersonal skills and can work independently Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively Knowledge of community development principles and best practices. Familiarity with social media platforms and digital engagement strategies * Passion for community building and making a positive impact
