The Construction Manager coordinates all site construction team activities and supervises all field activities as required to successfully complete the project on schedule and within budget. This includes maintaining the highest quality, while administering good construction safety practices with all on-site activities. Maintains the job site office and closes out projects. Reports to Project Manager.
Construction of projects, in accordance with Company Policies and approved Work Instructions, or specific requirements of a construction site, as required.
Assist in the preparation of, review and provide construction inputs and technical evaluation of the Subcontract Requisition / specification documentation.
Coordinates and supervises all construction activities.
Directs all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.
Maintains construction schedule, identifies and solves problems.
Orders materials and schedules inspections as necessary throughout the process.
Understands the project plans, specifications and local codes and regulations.
Maintains positive relationships with all stake holders including internal and external such as Client, Operations team, contractors, suppliers and other employees.
Prepares schedules and supervises completion of a final punch list.
Promotes and ensure job site safety, encourages safe work practices and rectifies job site hazards immediately.
Ensures all company employees and contractors are adhering to the company safety policy.
Maintains an organized job site, including the construction office
Assist and coordinate with Client and Operations team for the preparation & execution of pre-commissioning, commissioning and plant start-up activities.
Site Management for all construction activities such as, Civil & Structural work, Steelwork, erection, piping installation of equipment as well as E&I for our project at Jurong Island
Assist in the preparation of, review and provide construction inputs and technical evaluation of the Subcontract Requisition / specification documentation.
Leading competence for the site team and site focal point to Contractors
Direct the completion of projects on-time and on-budget.
Work with relevant jurisdictional authorities during the permitting process and ensure that all
applicable inspections are completed during construction.
Demolition of existing plant and building, if required.
Getting, Guiding and if required arranging all PTW (Permit to work) required for contractors.
Requirements
Degree or coursework in Construction Engineering; Construction Management; Engineering; or related field preferred with 7+ Years experiences working in Chemical or Petrochemical plant.
Construction Safety Course for Project Manager as required by the Authority.
All relevant safety trainings as required by the Authorities, such as WSQ (Apply Workplace Safety and Health in Process Plant), WSQ (Apply Workplace Safety and Health in Construction Sites), WAH(Work At-Height), WSQ Supervise Work in Confined Space and Building Construction Supervisor Safety Course(BCSSC).
Prior experience with H2 Electrolyser plant project would be an advantage.
Problem Solving: Analyses problems and makes sound decisions in a timely manner based on
objectives, risks, implications and costs.
Managing skills for leading a construction team and deal with contractors professionally
Appropriate know-how in construction and construction management within petrochemical or chemicals plants.
