The role

• The Business Contracts Manager is responsible for reviewing contracts and contract management; and shall assist the Management and respective Country Managers in relation to the fast-growing regional digital media business in the region. This role provides an excellent opportunity for a junior lawyer to take ownership in assisting advising, and growing together with a dynamic digital media business.
• Provide legal and commercial support to the media business across various countries in the region (including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Myanmar and India).
• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements in relation to the acquisition, production and distribution of content, subscription and advertising business, sales and marketing activities, events organising and management, as well as supporting the in-house counsel in relation to contentious and IP matters relating to the media business.
• Support the in-house counsel and business teams by providing legal, regulatory and strategic advice in relation to the media business, such as on matters relating to regulatory licensing, content regulation, advertising and marketing, competition and anti-trust, and new technology.
• Assist Management and respective Country Managers in legal matters relating to the media business.

To succeed in this role

• 2 to 4 years of relevant legal experience in a common law jurisdiction; and/or in-house environment, with a background on commercial transactions relating to technology and media, excellent contractual drafting and negotiating skills, commercial acumen, and the ability to take charge in discussions. Qualification in a common law jurisdiction, and/or in either of the countries specified above, is preferred.
• Solid legal and commercial knowledge and experience in supporting a media business.
• Having the ability to drive matters forward in a commercially feasible and legally sound manner is necessary.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
• Excellent communication skills, people oriented, self-driven and able to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Ability to engage with other business units and stakeholders across the Group is crucial, including to be able to conceptualise legal risks and issues commercially and communicate them in a clear and concise manner.
• Exceptional organization skills, mature and able to multi-task, solution-oriented with good commercial sense.
