JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client, a global tertiary university, is seeking a Coordinator, Student Experience, to join their dynamic team.

Reporting to the Academic Director, the key accountabilities of this role are:

  • Coordinate and support the Academic Director in the management and implementation of initiatives that are directly related to continually enhancing the student experience such as mentor and student ambassador programs.
  • Provide advice and operational support to staff members in delivering key initiatives that are directly related to enhancing student experience.
  • Provision of administrative support to lecturers including the coordination of activities to be undertaken during their visit.
  • Monitor the availability of academics for face-to-face student consultation and related support and work to deliver an effective timetable.
  • Serve as an effective liaison point with the university student council to connect the university directly to the students.
  • Conduct Student Staff Consultative Committee meetings.
  • Assist the Academic Director with active management of student complaints through to resolution in partnership with schools, complaints team and academic registrars group.
  • Contribute to a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement through assisting with streamlining internal communication lines and support services.
  • Collaborate with and support in the coordination and administration of events, such as employer liaison functions, industry and professional association events.
  • Liaise with visiting guests, including those giving special lectures.
  • Ensure planned and timely communication with relevant stakeholders across the university.
  • Undertake research and analysis activities in liaison with relevant school and college stakeholders to produce regular reports on key projects and initiatives.
  • Represent the school on college wide working groups related to student experience.
  • Provide leadership and supervision of teams of casual staff, guests, students and student interns on a needs basis.
  • Any other duties as directed.
In order to succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities:
  • A bachelor\'s degree from a reputable university.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the tertiary education sector, preferably in a global context.
  • Excellent organization skills and a proven ability to work independently.
  • Ability to show initiative and to prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines in a demanding environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality assurance.
  • Demonstrate high motivation to achieve results and outcomes and well-developed problem solving skills including capability in managing complex issues.
  • Proven experience in managing and coordination of projects, planning, communication, implementation, evaluation and reporting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to conduct effective meetings and compose correspondence, minutes and action-oriented reports.
  • Demonstrate confidence and professionalism to deal effectively, tactfully and confidentially with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent relationship building, negotiation skills to work with academic, professional staff, students and external clients.
  • Able to convey information to prospective students and parents from a wide range of cultural and language backgrounds.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team and commitment to behave in a manner that fosters a positive team environment.
  • Demonstrate aptitude to work collegially with other staff in the work place.
  • High level computer skills using Word, Excel, databases, internet, intranet and email with focus on effectiveness, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of the usage of web and mobile applications and social media to engage stakeholders.
