Details of the Division and Team:

Drive and support the origination, development, due diligence, approval and monitoring of project finance (incl Reserved Based Lending) transactions in in the Natural Resources and Commodities sector. You should have a strong interest in the energy transition challenges and continuous improvement of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) standards is also required. You will be exposed to transactions expected to be delivered under tight timelines. You will assume the role of deal team lead allocating responsibility to supporting teams and junior colleagues in the team with overall accountability for the delivery of the transaction. The role requires you to be able to work independently with international teams, a broad skillset, including financial modelling analysis, credit and legal documentation.

This is an important role within the Specialized Finance growth pillar of the Corporate Bank. The team has built a leadership position in Renewable Sector Project Finance and Reserve Based Lending. The successful candidate will be required to support the Head of Natural Resource APAC and work closely with colleagues within the existing Structured Trade Export Finance and Project Finance businesses global and regional teams. Furthermore, the successful candidate should possess a deep understanding and analytic skillset of Project Finance, notably within the Oil & Gas, Natural Resources and/or energy space.

Your key responsibilities:

Support and drive the origination of a pipeline of Reserve Based Lending/ Project Finance within Oil & Gas/ Natural Resource Sectors with the Corporate Bank\'s core clients (notably with European and Asia Pacific clients)

Undertake and manage the necessary due diligence, financial modeling, risk analysis and mitigation in the structuring of loans and taking the deal through the Credit Risk process.

The successful candidate will be required to support the Head of Natural Resource APAC and lead a deal team of junior members providing leadership, project management and strong commercial and credit analytical skills.

Support or lead the internal approvals process including interface with credit, group sustainability/Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), legal and other teams.

With the support of internal and external counsels, ensure for all deals that appropriate legal documentation is successfully concluded in line with approvals and that financial close is achieved in a timely and compliant fashion.

A strong understanding of the banks Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG )targets and how these transactions can fit into those targets.

Monitor deals throughout deal lifetime.

Your skills and experience:

7+ years of experience in a structured finance role, ideally with focus into commodities and including expertise in the industry.

Ideally experience in commodity trading and hedging from an industry perspective, to be able to assess chances and risks in deals in a client centric manner.

Established relationship with clients, sponsors, or investors.

Proficiency in financial modelling and non financial risk awareness

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
