Sofitel Singapore City Centre, an iconic hotel which opens in October 2017 will form part of a mixed-use development at Tanjong Pagar Centre, a multi-billion dollar development, which will become Singapore\xe2\x80\x99s tallest building at 290 meters set around landscaped parkland and direct MRT station access.

The 223-room Sofitel Singapore City Centre will offer chic designed rooms, 4 Food and Beverage options, a ballroom, and several meeting rooms, fitness and pool facilities.


  • Control the customer database mailing list and ensure that it is updated constantly.
  • Maintain existing businesses with clients and develop new accounts.
  • Complete weekly entertainment and weekly activities plan.
  • Conduct sales campaign by direct sales call/ visits/ mailing for group and FIT business, meeting and banquets from all sources for bookings and lead
  • Ensure that all incoming correspondence and telephone enquiries are handled with efficiency and great care to build a pleasant working relationship
  • Implementation of personal sales call plan program with regular follow up on effectiveness, changing where appropriate to respond to market business needs
  • Keep clients advised of the latest information regarding the hotel\xe2\x80\x99s development.
  • Provide after-sales service and in particular to ensure all guests complaints are brought to the management\xe2\x80\x99s attention
  • Define precisely guest requirements and ensure that the guest services offered corresponds effectively to their requests.
  • Be understanding, supportive, encouraging and helpful to all ambassadors in the department.
  • Conduct Market Research to source for new Corporate, Leisure and MICE business.
  • Maintain effective communication with the Director of Sales & Marketing, providing market intelligence on a regular basis, understanding competitor strengths weaknesses and ongoing sales activities
  • Participate and represent the Hotel at key industry / trade events that will ensure an appropriate return on investment.
  • Have a complete understanding of the Hotel\xe2\x80\x99s sales vision, its products, services, and rate structure to fulfill business objectives.
  • Ensure penetration of existing accounts to establish greater awareness of hotel and group products/series to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Identify and convert sales leads into new business opportunities.
  • Develop and implement a plan to follow up on prospective business.
  • Answer all correspondence and inquiries received during the working week within 24 hours of receipt; maintain good public relations with customers.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with the Sales Coordinator to ensure smooth handover of clients for Events after the signed contract and deposit is received.
  • Advise Hotel on appropriate treatment of hotel VIPs and other visitors to maximise all sales opportunities.
  • Adherence to Emergency Communication procedures ensuring that enquiries from the media are only responded to by the nominated spokesperson.
  • Handle inquiries and \'walk-ins\' as required.
  • Strive to implement the Sofitel Vision and demonstrate active use of Sofitel Values.
  • Any other duties assigned by the manager.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Hospitality Sales environment, 5 star luxury environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated sales calls experience.
  • Self motivated.
  • Projects professional image at all times through personal presentation / interpersonal skills.
  • Initiates contact and establishes rapport easily.
  • Organises time and work efficiently.
  • Appreciates and maintains an effective outlet for stress.
  • Effective numeracy, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Has the ability and willingness to undertake further development.
  • Excellent business writing skills.
  • Works under pressure without negative impact.
  • Develops and maintains co-operative working relationships.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing and delivering professional presentations.
  • Demonstrates understanding of hotel financial reporting and key performance indicators.
