The Mobile Crane Operator is responsible for operating mobile cranes to lift, move, position, and place heavy materials and equipment safely and efficiently at construction, shipyard, or industrial sites. The operator must follow all safety regulations, site procedures, and manufacturer's instructions to ensure smooth and safe crane operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate mobile cranes (e.g., truck-mounted or all-terrain cranes) to lift, move, and position materials or equipment as directed.
Conduct pre-operation inspections and ensure the crane is in good working condition.
Determine and verify load weights, lifting points, and crane capacity before operations.
Set up crane configurations including outriggers, counterweights, and boom angles for safe lifting operations.
Follow signals and directions from riggers, signalmen, or lifting supervisors.
Ensure all lifting activities comply with MOM and WSH regulations.
Maintain accurate records of crane operations, maintenance, and daily checks.
Report mechanical faults or safety hazards immediately to the supervisor or lifting engineer.
Participate in toolbox meetings and adhere to all workplace safety procedures.
Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum education: Primary or secondary school education (basic literacy and numeracy skills).
Certification (Singapore requirements):
Possess a valid WSQ Operate Mobile Crane Certificate (under Workforce Skills Qualifications).
Hold a valid MOM Crane Operator Licence (Mobile Crane).
Must have completed Construction Safety Orientation Course (CSOC).
Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience operating mobile cranes in construction, shipyard, or industrial projects.
Good understanding of lifting plans, load charts, and safe lifting procedures.
Physically fit and able to work in outdoor site environments.
