Mandai Wildlife Group is the steward of Mandai Wildlife Reserve, a unique wildlife and nature destination in Singapore that is home to world-renown wildlife parks which connect visitors to the fascinating world of wildlife. The Group is driving an exciting rejuvenation plan at Mandai Wildlife Reserve, adjacent to Singapore\'s Central Catchment Nature Reserve, that will integrate five wildlife parks with distinctive nature-based experiences, green public spaces and an eco-friendly resort.

Mandai Wildlife Group advocates for biodiversity, contributes leading wildlife research, develops innovative solutions to promote living sustainably, and collaborates with conservation partners in Singapore and Southeast Asia.

The Group provides funding and in-kind support to Mandai Nature for conservation work across Southeast Asia.

Mandai Global, an entity that is part of the Group, will establish and operate new lines of business anchored in creating positive outcomes for nature and wildlife.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

1. Animal Care and Welfare

\xc2\xb7 Overall in charge of general management of an assigned animal collection to the highest possible standards of animal care and welfare.

\xc2\xb7 Propose and implement the approved institutional collection plan, including liaising with other zoos and species coordinators regarding acquisition and disposition of specimen in accordance with the MWG Animal Acquisition Guidelines.

\xc2\xb7 Initiate, administer, and review protocols for animal care and keeper safety, including conducting and reviewing all emergency and safety drills.

\xc2\xb7 Work closely with the Veterinary Services to ensure optimal health care for the living collection.

2. Zoological Operations / Project Management

\xc2\xb7 Overall in charge of zoological operations for the section, including team management and development.

\xc2\xb7 Propose and conduct preliminary budgeting for endorsement.

\xc2\xb7 Propose and coordinate the development of new animal programmes and assess existing ones.

\xc2\xb7 Propose, plan, design and oversee the construction of new exhibits, upgrading of existing exhibits and/or support services.

\xc2\xb7 Facilitate and coordinate the implementation of behavioural husbandry programmes.

\xc2\xb7 Develop, review and update all relevant policies and work procedures.

3. Animal Care Research

\xc2\xb7 Conduct, facilitate and supervise animal care research and/or breeding programmes, and present them at meetings and annual conferences.

4. Other relevant duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

\xc2\xb7 Bachelor\'s degree in Zoology, Animal Sciences or the equivalent.

\xc2\xb7 Minimum 8 years of experience in managing a team of professionals in a zoological setting. Prior experience with structured visitor experiences is highly desirable.

\xc2\xb7 Demonstrates interest and expertise in the Biology / Zoology and captive management of a diverse selection of species as well as sound knowledge and understanding of zoo animal welfare and behavioural husbandry.

\xc2\xb7 Embraces a scientific approach to managing ex-situ populations in zoos and promote research-oriented, evidence-based animal care practices.

\xc2\xb7 Demonstrates sound knowledge of current issues relating to the conservation of wildlife and the role of zoos in the one-plan approach to saving species from extinction and the one-health approach concept.

\xc2\xb7 Possesses strong organisational skills, able to conduct document control, and write protocols and related documents.

\xc2\xb7 Possesses proven ability to manage and motivate staff.

\xc2\xb7 Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills.
