Job Summary: This job assists with assignments requiring basic security knowledge and business expertise. Cyber Defense Interns at PayPal play a pivotal role in upholding the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of PayPal's systems and data. As a Cyber Defense Intern, you will be on the front lines of cybersecurity, contributing to the protection of millions of users and transactions across our diverse range of payment platforms, including PayPal and Subsidiaries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Actively contribute to the implementation of cybersecurity measures and strategies, which may involve tasks related to threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, and security operations.
• Analyze security data and metrics to identify anomalies and potential threats, and contribute to the development of tools and processes for efficient security monitoring and analysis.
• Participate in the design and development of security automation and orchestration solutions to streamline security operations tasks.

Basic Requirements:

• Knowledge of common security concepts and technologies, including cryptography, network security, access control, and security event analysis.
• Programming knowledge and scripting languages eg. KQL, Python, Bash, PowerShell, JavaScript, HTML
• Cybersecurity knowledge in Web, API domain
• Strong problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset, coupled with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing security issues.
• Eagerness to continuously learn and adapt in the rapidly evolving field of cybersecurity, coupled with a strong desire to explore and experiment with new security technologies and methodologies.

Internship Program Information and Requirements:

• This is a 6 months full time of internship, starting from 18 May 2026
• Must currently be pursuing Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited college or university, graduating between end 2026 or mid 2027
