[What the role is]

This traineeship is designed to provide strong foundational skills and prepare the participant for a future career in data science. The successful trainee will use data and analytics to influence critical decisions, and shape organisational and sector strategy.

[What you will be working on]

Duties include the following:





1. Data Preparation and Transformation


Standardise and transform raw data into the correct formats and data types Identify, flag, and handle outliers to preserve data reliability Correct common data issues such as typos, extra spaces, and inconsistent text formats

2. Collaboration and Learning


Work closely with data analysts and programme managers to understand data requirements Support downstream workflows by ensuring datasets are clean, accurate, and analysis-ready Participate in workshops and training sessions to strengthen skills in data management and analytical tools

3. Applying Data Analytics Methods


Develop and design management dashboards in Power BI for business reporting Work on projects to improve service planning, funding, and resource allocation Apply statistical and machine learning methods to equip stakeholders in the social service sector with evidence-based inputs to strengthen decision-making, optimize service provision, and support analytical initiatives

[What we are looking for]

Functional / Technical Competencies Required

1. Understanding of data concepts and datasets


2. Proficiency in Excel


3. Knowledge of Python or R preferred

2. Open, adaptable, and eager to learn new technical skills


3. Professional and detail-oriented in managing and documenting work processes
