We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to oversee technical data architecture in NUS.
The role will manage the technical architecture of our data platforms as well the solution architecture of data related solutions. This role will also champion the proper implementation and adherence to best practices across all stages of the data platform delivery lifecycle.
This is a hands-on individual contributor role and the candidate should have recent hands-on development experience.Duties and ResponsibilitiesData Platform Technical Architecture

• \xe2\x80\x8bCreate, manage, and document optimal data pipeline architecture.
• \xe2\x80\x8bUnderstand technical architecture of data related platforms and provide advisory to other teams.
• \xe2\x80\x8bBuild the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from data sources.
• \xe2\x80\x8bCreate, manage, and document data pipelines in the data pipeline solution and keep them in line with business needs.

\xe2\x80\x8bData Solutions Architecture

• \xe2\x80\x8bDesign the solution for a modern data platform, including aspects like master data management, data lakehouse, data pipelines.
• \xe2\x80\x8bDesign best practices for data related implementations.
• \xe2\x80\x8bDefine and champion the direction for data platforms and their technologies, including their framework, architecture, standards, and guidelines.

Technical Expertise

• \xe2\x80\x8bStay updated about of emerging technologies and industry trends in order to drive innovation within our organization.

\xe2\x80\x8bOrganizational Collaboration

• \xe2\x80\x8bProvide technical guidance and expertise to teams, helping to solve complex technical challenges.
• \xe2\x80\x8bCollaborate with engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
• \xe2\x80\x8bProvide direction and guidance to teams (both inside and outside of NUS IT) on working with the data platform.
• \xe2\x80\x8bCollaborate with university departments on any technical solutioning required to support data platform requirements.

Qualifications

• \xe2\x80\x8bBachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• \xe2\x80\x8bMinimum of 8 years of experience with a focus on data platforms architecture and engineering.
• \xe2\x80\x8bProven ability to work with cross-functional teams, promoting collaboration and achieving the objectives of programme and initiatives.
• \xe2\x80\x8bExceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with a track record of effectively addressing technical challenges and risk mitigation.
• \xe2\x80\x8bDemonstrated strategic thinking and planning abilities, capable of aligning technical projects with organizational goals and market demands.
• \xe2\x80\x8bRelevant experience in designing, developing, and supporting data platforms, having successfully completed projects in data projects delivery.
• \xe2\x80\x8bStrong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of management, users, and vendors.
• \xe2\x80\x8bMust be a good team player, proactive in nature, fast learner, highly organized and go-getter attitude with can-do spirit.

\xe2\x80\x8bTechnical Expertise

• \xe2\x80\x8bStrong working experience in end-to-end development of data lakes and data warehouses, preferably with experience in Informatica.
• Working experience in Azure cloud.
• \xe2\x80\x8bStrong working experience in Azure Fabric - specifically Data Factory, Data Engineering, OneLake (Data Lake Storage) and Data Warehouse.
• Good working experience knowledge of master data management.
• \xe2\x80\x8bWorking experience in big data and DataSecOps is an added advantage.
• \xe2\x80\x8bExperience in MS SQL and Oracle, including querying and tuning large, complex data sets and performance analysis is preferred.
