We are looking for Data Centre MEP Design Lead to be responsible for the development of concept and schematic design into detailed design leading to construction reference and shop drawings.

What you will do:

• Liaise with Schneider’s project teams, consultants and internal teams to understand the project requirement/scope/needs Convert the conceptual design developed by the Solution Engineering team into preliminary design to enable the solution engineering team to develop the statement of work for solicitation of 3rd party quotation for goods and services.
• Development of the preliminary design into detailed construction reference (shop drawings when required) for eventual implementation by the project management team
• Provide design drawings support to the project management team during project implementation team.
• Engage and manage 3rd party services for of design drawings development (AutoCad) as and when required to augment in-house resources.
• Conduct review of proposed solution developed by the Solution Engineers to assess for completeness, constructability, and maintainability.
• Review solution compliance to the local standards, regulation, codes and safety requirements.
• Liaise with contractors to communicate and explain design intent and drawings for proper scoping and costing by contractors.
• Manage repository for archived project drawings files.
• Develop standard drawing templates and formats for Singapore in accordance with industry practice and standards.
• Coordinate with engineering consulting engineers as and when required during the design development stage.
• Develop room models for computation fluid dynamic simulation and analysis.

Experience and skills we are looking for:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a relevant engineering capacity of which 4 years should be in the design and implementation of critical facilities such as Data Centers or large industrial plants.
• Hands on experience as site engineer in construction of data centre facilities or buildings are a must together with a strong knowledge in air conditioning & mechanical ventilation systems and electrical systems installation. Experience with Data Centre implementation or with critical facilities engineering consulting industry preferred.
• Knowledge in fire protection systems is a plus.
• Familiar with local building codes and statutory requirements.
• Experienced AutoCAD user in the expert or advanced level is required.
• Knowledge in Building Information Modelling (BIM) is an advantage
• Strong communication, business management and consulting engagement skills
• Team player and a leader, who can work effectively with customers and colleagues at all levels.
• Strong management and engineering skills
• Independent and self-driven and work with minimum guidance
