Yara Africa & Asia (YAA) produces, sells, distributes and markets fertilizers and industrial products across Asia Pacific and Africa regions, with offices location and operational units in 20 countries. The region employs over 1800 employees and has a long history in the Asian Pacific and African markets, focusing on develop crop nutrition concepts that increase food production and create value to the growers, in particular smallholder farmers, whilst minimizing environmental impact of agricultural activities.

YAA is currently undergoing a major transformation, aimed at shifting the existing business models, generating new revenue streams and ultimately delivering profit through new Farming Solutions related activities.

Responsibilities

  • Define data governance framework, the system and the indicators of the quality and performance metrics to ensure compliance with data-related standards and policies.
  • Defines the roles and responsibilities related to data governance, and ensures accountability for the stewardship and master data assets of the enterprise.
  • Apply data governance framework and best practices, drive the implementation of Data Protection standards, actively identify and mitigate risks, and resolve end-to-end issues regarding data governance that may arise.
  • Work with product owners, data engineers, data analysts, data architect, developers to ensure data best practices are designed and implemented proactively.
  • Serve as a single point of contact for data governance, and liaison with IT , business units, compliance, governance operation and legal team to ensure compliance with institutional policy and regulations.
  • Identify the new business opportunities with the use of data assets to achieve efficiency and represent data as business asset in compliant with internal and external data governance framework.
  • Enhance the overall awareness and understanding of the importance of data privacy and security. Provide training to the entire team on relevant policies, procedures, quality assurance best practices.
Profile
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
  • Have 7+ years of experience in area of data engineering, stewardship, RBA management, master data management, data lifecycle management and compliance with regulations.
  • Working knowledge in global standards (GDPR), legal, government and regulatory requirements alongside emerging trends and issues.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing data governance framework and roadmap.
  • Experienced in SQL.
  • Detail oriented and result driven.
