What the role is

As a Data Infrastructure Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain the data infrastructure and tools needed to support data processing, storage, and analysis. You will work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to ensure that the data infrastructure is secure, reliable, and scalable. Additionally, the Data Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for staying up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in data infrastructure.

What you will be working on

• Design, build, and maintain the infrastructure and DevOps tools needed to support data processing, storage, and analysis.
• Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to ensure that the data infrastructure is secure, reliable, and scalable.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Identify and implement data quality improvements.
• Monitor and optimize data storage and processing performance.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans for data infrastructure.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in data infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain documentation for data infrastructure and processes.
• Provide technical support to data analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders as needed.

What we are looking for

• Background in related disciplines, preferable in information systems, business analytics, or computing science
• At least 3 years of experience in data infrastructure engineering.
• Strong understanding of data storage and processing technologies
• Experience with data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Experience with data quality improvement techniques.
• Good knowledge and experience in data integration, data quality, data governance and database technologies
• Relevant experience and knowledge of how people, process and technology can come together to enable advanced analytics, Data Science and data management will be an advantage
• Good programming and scripting skills and familiar with common programming languages and frameworks such as Python, Java, SQL, MySQL,
• Strong problem solving skills and experience in matching appropriate technologies to business needs
• Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders
• Ability to concurrently oversee multiple projects and work independently with diverse teams.
• Strong interpersonal and communication and analytical skills
• Open minded to new ideas, approaches and technologies
