About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated

Data Scientist

to support a key government technology agency in Singapore.





The role involves working on applied AI and data science initiatives, collaborating closely with stakeholders, engineering teams, and research institutes to develop and deploy innovative solutions for national-level projects.

Key Responsibilities

Facilitate discussions with stakeholders to understand business challenges, define use cases, and translate them into data science projects. Collaborate with product owners, engineering teams, and industry partners throughout the product lifecycle - from concept, design, prototyping, testing, data curation, delivery, operationalisation, to end-of-life. Conduct technical assessments on AI research, technologies, and trends to evaluate maturity, viability, and suitability for deployment. Build machine learning models to identify patterns, recognise trends, and generate predictions. Deploy AI/ML models into production environments including mobile and IoT platforms. Present findings, collect feedback, and prioritise refinements in close iteration with stakeholders. Participate in agile software development processes including requirement gathering, secure coding, testing, and documentation. Transfer technology and solutions to industry partners for adoption and scaling. Engage and collaborate with research institutes and institutes of higher learning on AI initiatives.

Requirements

Postgraduate (Master's/PhD) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields.

Strong expertise in

Artificial Intelligence (AI)

with focus on

Computer Vision (CV), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Recommendation Systems, and/or Generative AI

. Good understanding of the latest AI research, tools, and technologies, with practical knowledge of deploying models to mobile and IoT devices. Proficiency in

Python

and

C++

, with strong coding and problem-solving skills. Hands-on experience with

deep learning frameworks

such as TensorFlow and PyTorch. Experience in model deployment, MLOps, and performance optimisation. Familiarity with

Agile/Scrum

project management methodologies. Proven experience in

stakeholder management

and ability to work with cross-functional teams. Strong communication and documentation skills.
