What the role is:The Home Team Science and Technology Agency (HTX) is a statutory board under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) which aims to pioneer innovation solutions and develop world class science and technology capabilities to transform and empower the Home Team in delivering safety and security for Singapore. The Deputy Director of AI Platform leads the development of cloud, on-premise, and hybrid platform architecture designs to meet the business needs of HTxAI and HTX applications. In addition to technical competence, this role involves mentoring and guiding junior engineers. The Deputy Director designs platform architectures, collaborates with a team of engineers, and ensures alignment with business and policy considerations. Effective communication with external and internal partners is essential, translating technical views into layman terms for non-technical users.What you will be working on:

• Define and execute the platform engineering roadmap aligned with business goals, ensuring scalability, security, and performance \xe2\x80\xa2 Lead the collaboration with key stakeholders to understand their strategic objectives to develop a comprehensive roadmap that aligns technology decisions, including making critical choices about the platform\'s architecture, scalability, security, and performance \xe2\x80\xa2 Determine the right infrastructure and tools needed to deploy, monitor and scale ML models and AI applications; handling optimization of infrastructure for scalability and monitoring the overall health of AI systems \xe2\x80\xa2 Establish best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment processes including DevSecOps and MLOps \xe2\x80\xa2 Establish seamless CI/CD pipelines for code integration, testing, and deployment, automate build processes, test execution, and deployment stages to accelerate development cycles. \xe2\x80\xa2 Plan and execute software releases systematically \xe2\x80\xa2 Implement monitoring tools to track performance metrics and log errors. \xe2\x80\xa2 Mentor and inspire a team of platform engineers, fostering innovation and collaboration

What we are looking for:

• Min Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field. Advanced certifications in enterprise architecture (e.g., TOGAF) are advantageous; Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure certifications) are preferred \xe2\x80\xa2 At least 10 years of experience in software development and architecture, with a proven track record of designing and implementing large-scale, enterprise-level solutions \xe2\x80\xa2 At least 8 years of practical knowledge with cloud/on-premise system design and implementation and 3 years\' of practical knowledge working with cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their associated services \xe2\x80\xa2 Strong leadership with good interpersonal skills to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. \xe2\x80\xa2 Experience in leading and collaborating with multi-agencies teams \xe2\x80\xa2 Understanding of software architecture principles, and industry best practices, with practical experience with microservices architecture, distributed systems, and API designs \xe2\x80\xa2 Practical knowledge in Bash and PowerShell Scripting and system networking \xe2\x80\xa2 Good knowledge of technologies relevant to an enterprise technology stack \xe2\x80\xa2 Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with demonstrated ability to identify and mitigate risks and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment \xe2\x80\xa2 Having domain knowledge in Homeland Security sector will be an added bonus \xe2\x80\xa2 Self-motivated & able to think strategically and translate strategy into implementation \xe2\x80\xa2 Has high level of integrity \xe2\x80\xa2 Clear headed under pressure & can function well either as a team player or an individual \xe2\x80\xa2 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills All new hires are appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance and will be assessed and considered for permanent tenure over time, based on performance.
