What the role is:Deputy Director (Cloud Engineering) is responsible to engineer our cloud operations to deliver world-class agility, reliability and security across public cloud, government commercial cloud and sovereign cloud. The job holder is required to have deep appreciation of software delivery lifecycle, model the value stream and apply DevOps practice to constantly enhance automation, reduce friction and remove hardship. We are seeking candidates with strong technical skills, engineering leadership experience, and a passion for mentoring to lead a team of engineers in developing solutions and applying engineering practices to deliver seamless developer experience and operational excellence. #LI-ZL1What you will be working on:

• Platform Engineering: Responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the foundational infrastructure and frameworks that support the development and operation of software applications. This includes creating and managing the tools, services, and environments that enable efficient and scalable application deployment, monitoring, and maintenance. Platform engineers are responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of the underlying platform, as well as driving continuous improvement and innovation to meet the evolving needs of the organization. \xe2\x80\xa2 Site Reliability Engineering: Responsible for designing and implementing robust and scalable infrastructure, automating operational tasks, monitoring system health, and responding to incidents to minimize downtime and ensure a seamless user experience. Work closely with development teams to improve system reliability, optimize performance, and drive efficiency through the use of automation and best practices in areas such as capacity planning, change management, and disaster recovery. \xe2\x80\xa2 Cloud Security Engineering: Responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of security measures to safeguard cloud-based infrastructure, applications, and data from cyber threats and unauthorized access. Operate security blue team for proactive defense, threat detection, and incident response to enhance overall security posture. \xe2\x80\xa2 Engineering Leadership: Guide and inspire a team of engineers to achieve their full potential and deliver high-quality solutions. This includes setting a clear technical vision, providing mentorship and support for skill development, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture, and empowering team members to take ownership of their work.

What we are looking for:

• Degree in Computer Science/ Engineering or relevant disciplines with minimum 10 years of relevant working experience in software development including a minimum of 5 years in a engineering leadership position. \xe2\x80\xa2 Extensive Technical Expertise: A deep understanding of cloud technologies, infrastructure, and best practices, along with a strong background in software development and system architecture. \xe2\x80\xa2 Leadership Experience: Proven experience in leading and managing engineering teams, setting strategic direction, and driving the successful delivery of complex cloud-based projects. \xe2\x80\xa2 Strategic Vision: The ability to develop and communicate a clear technical vision, aligning it with the organization\'s business objectives and driving innovation in cloud engineering practices. \xe2\x80\xa2 Mentorship and Coaching: A track record of mentoring and developing engineering talent, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth within the team. \xe2\x80\xa2 Collaboration and Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and senior management, as well as to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences. \xe2\x80\xa2 Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: The capability to analyze complex technical challenges, make sound decisions, and drive the implementation of effective solutions. \xe2\x80\xa2 Industry Knowledge: A thorough understanding of industry trends, security best practices, compliance requirements, and emerging technologies in cloud engineering. All new hires are appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance and will be assessed and considered for permanent tenure over time, based on performance.
