What the role is:

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) is Singapore\'s central bank and integrated financial regulator.

As central bank, MAS promotes sustained, non-inflationary economic growth through the conduct of monetary policy and close macroeconomic surveillance and analysis. It manages Singapore\'s exchange rate, official foreign reserves, and liquidity in the banking sector.

As an integrated financial supervisor, MAS fosters a sound financial services sector through its prudential oversight of all financial institutions in Singapore - banks, insurers, capital market intermediaries, financial advisors, and stock exchanges. [What you will be working on]

You will be a member of a central team responsible for the ideation and implementation of sustainability strategies across MAS\' functions, working closely with relevant departments within the organisation to anchor Singapore as a leading green finance centre.

In this role, you will:

  • Support the Sustainability Group in pioneering research in global trends, horizon scanning and new emerging areas (e.g. impact investing and finance, inter-linkages between social and environmental outcomes, scope 4 disclosures etc). In this role, the individual will interface with both external stakeholders (e.g. financial institutions, knowledge partners, consultants) and internal stakeholders (e.g. functional departments in MAS).
  • Develop and execute an implementation strategy to encourage high adoption of the Singapore-Asia Taxonomy across different stakeholders including financial institutions, corporates and government bodies.
  • Support the interoperability of Singapore-Asia Taxonomy with other global taxonomies.
  • Research and establish contacts of relevant sustainability academia in global institutes of higher learning to advance MAS\' sustainability objectives. Manage strategic research partners and institutes of higher learnings to achieve capability and research outcomes that will advance MAS FINZ.
  • Support the team in managing key accounts and research institutes for example but not exhaustive, e.g. project management, contracts and procurement, logistical support for events and meetings etc.
[What are we looking for]
  • Demonstrated track record of communications in sustainability, and in sustainability reporting
  • Relevant work experience in the financial sector is preferred and knowledge of sustainable finance is an advantage.
  • Ability to write clearly and synthesise messages
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to positively influence internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong project management skills and able to lead organization-wide projects involving multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A good team player who is proactive and motivated
