What the role is:The National Research Foundation (NRF), a department under the Prime Minister\'s Office, sets the national direction for R&D and coordinates the research agenda of different agencies to transform Singapore into an innovative, entrepreneurial and knowledge-intensive economy, with R&D as a key driver. We invite outstanding candidates with the right background and experience and the passion to shape the long-term R&D landscape in Singapore to apply.What you will be working on:Responsibilities: \xe2\x80\xa2 Assist Director of the Government Scientific Advisors Office (GSAO) to support the Committee of Government Scientific Advisors (CGSA) in its work which includes providing advice on Singapore\'s overall Science & Technology (S&T) agenda and producing evidence-based reports on strategic issues that inform policy formulation and implementation; \xe2\x80\xa2 Conduct systematic reviews of the S&T literature to curate and analyse the evidence in defined areas within or across the Physical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Digital Sciences and Human/Social Sciences, and based on the findings, to develop initial drafts of how these should inform policy formulation; \xe2\x80\xa2 Perform technology foresighting and work with multiple public agencies to conduct joint technology road-mapping exercises to identify high priority R&D themes and areas and their implications; \xe2\x80\xa2 Analyse science & technology trends to identify potential new opportunities and threats relevant to the public sector such as epidemic preparedness, climate change and trust technology; \xe2\x80\xa2 Guide the coordination and programme management of selected S&T related initiatives which involve multiple agencies and cut across a range of disciplines; and \xe2\x80\xa2 Other ad-hoc projects as assignedWhat we are looking for:Requirements: A high-performing individual, with at least 5 years of experience and technical expertise in science, engineering or economics, who preferably has worked in the intersections of S&T, policy and strategy. The candidate should possess strong analytical abilities, a broad sense of perspective, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to collaborate well with others across a diversity of sectors and disciplines.About National Research Foundation:The National Research Foundation (NRF) was set up on 1 January 2006 as a department under the Prime Minister\'s Office. It was set up to perform the following: a) To provide secretariat support to the Research, Innovation and Enterprise Council (RIEC), chaired by the Prime Minister; b) To coordinate the research of different agencies within the larger national framework in order to provide a coherent strategic overview and direction; c) To develop policies and plans to implement the five strategic thrusts for the national R&D agenda; and d) To implement national research, innovation and enterprise strategies approved by the RIEC, and to allocate funding to programmes that meet NRF\'s strategic objectives.
